Pros

Good benefits. Depending on manager you have the ability to work from home just about as much as you want. As long as you get your work done most are ok with it. Everyone is very nice and most are willing to help whenever you have questions. Pretty quiet atmosphere. Everyone kind of puts their heads down and goes to work. Not too much water cooler talk. Ability to travel to some cool places, but that depends on the group you are in and the projects currently being worked on.

Cons

Getting a promotion is basically non-existent. For younger people that want to move up in the company, it's not going to happen, and it gets very frustrating. You're told to do more and be more involved in other areas outside of your own group and responsibilities, and that will give you more visibility to upper management so you can get a promotion. Well, that's basically the way managers get more work done out of the employees because nothing comes out of it. It's a very top heavy organization and the glass ceiling is much lower than one would expect at a company like this. However, if you've got a lot of years of experience under your belt and try to get into Bayer it'll work out pretty good for you. You'll get a really good salary and you'll be just fine trying to support you family. It's the younger generation here that doesn't stand a chance and as a result several have left in the 5 years that I have been here. I could go on and on about so much more, but what I wrote above will do.
