Pros

Decent Salary for a Department Head "Trainee" Typical Expectations of all markets- (nights, holidays, weekends, . very physically demanding position, never enough labor hours to reasonably complete the production list- not new or unusual.)

Cons

What I did not like at all, and what seemed to be somewhat "deceptive" is that they post a position for a department (bakery/ deli/ produce) "manager trainee" and you take all of the prerequisite "management training" (even when highly experienced) and they lead you to believe that you are being groomed for a store of your own in the very near future. IN REALITY- after your training you are told that you, like all other management trainees must "apply for the job" with corporate, and you are at the "back of the line" of all of the other "Manager Trainees" that have come before you, and are now in "Assistant Manager" slots - which is where you end up for a very very long time, as those slots are difficult to fill- they have the most responsibility and the worst schedule (in essence, you are the worker bees for all of the duties & hours that the department manager can't or doesn't want to do. The pay isn't enough for what is required. They post openings for all positions, all of the time, whether the actual need is there or not. (Management Program is deceptive- if you wanted an "Assistant Manager" position, you would have applied for it!

Pros

You get paid every week.

Cons

• They talk to you like you're stupid. • Their tone becomes more aggressive when you don't brown nose them. • They don't lead by example nor implement any teamwork. • They make daily operations more difficult to complete as a flex. • They disguise their racism towards employees as company policy institution. • They become spiteful when you don't fall in line and take out their frustration on your workers while store management look the other way. • They talk negatively about you in group chats and emails. • They pretend to be inefficient when they don't want to help. • They harass & imprison your workers as soon as you clock out (by eyewitness accounts). • Management will sabotage your evaluation, hire special needs people for critical thinking jobs, & accept underperforming associates from other stores just to save money. • Higher-ups will deny qualified applicants employment while conspiring to hire the children of old classmates who purposefully show up to work late. • Store management will physically assault minors who steal on the premises and act openly racists to shoppers of color.
