I have been working at Harris Teeter part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Definitely some of my coworkers, they tend to be pretty great and funny people. It's not a terrible first job.

    Cons

Because of the retention rate for the front-end there's a lot of incompetency, ridiculous policies at times. They can stretch you thin if you're one of the few reliable people

    Advice to Management

Take more time in who you decide to hire and pay attention to the employees that do put their all in for the company, compensate them reasonably.

    Cons

Not really cons I can say because it’s a great place to work, I just wish that some people that work there would keep a great attitude. Like I said above everybody had a great attitude but it’s only one that’s outta place.

I worked at Harris Teeter part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - The job lasted 1.5 years before they really cut my hours to where I was forced to find another job
    - The pay is above minimum wage by about a dollar
    - Flexible work schedule
    - Easy register

    Cons

    - No belt so you have to take all the groceries out and organize yourself, as well as loading the cart
    - Hardly any baggers to help, and if their are, they are outside in the lot
    - Rude customers (but that’s everywhere)
    - You will be on call a lot, so you can NOT make plans that day. If they don’t need you then you will have a boring day and wish you made plans.

    Advice to Management

You should pay your workers, for the work they are doing. There are more stores where cashiers hardly do any work and they get paid a lot.
