I have been working at Harris Teeter full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nothing specific to this company. It is always good to work with great people. Problem is that great people dont hang around long here.

    Cons

They will lie to you to hire you. No manager, I repeat, no manager in the company gets closer than 50% of the bonus payout. Most can barely get to 25%. And the bonus is tied solely to what store you are assigned to because the bonus is not actually based on effort but on sales volume. So if you are assigned to one of the few bigger stores then great. Except that they also move you around constantly so you never get to build and develop a strong team. You are forever starting from scratch. They do not care about your work/life balance. They will change your schedule from one day to another without asking you. You will be required to work 6-7 days a week on a regular basis.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying to new recruits. Tell us what the pay actually is so that we do not leave our higher paying jobs for a lie. Treat us as you would like to be treated. Your churn rate for managers is astronomical. Pay attention to what that is telling you. Have HR do exit interviews and find out what is going wrong.

I worked at Harris Teeter full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's easy to get comfortable there.

    Cons

That's the problem; people get too comfortable and forget about putting effort into the quality of their jobs. It's not everybody but it is enough to make it hard for the good ones to want to stay around.

I worked at Harris Teeter part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If its your first job its a good place to start, but if you're looking to make any actual money look elsewhere.

    Cons

You are only given a 15 minute break if you work more than 4 hours and only given a lunch in you work more than 6. So if you work 6 hours, enjoy your 15 minute break. When at a register you are also put on an island essentially. No going to the bathroom, no getting water, no doing basic human necessities.
