Pros

Part-timers eligible for Dental, Vision (for small fee) and 401K. Part-timers participate in profit sharing bonuses. Relatively easy to get last minute time-off if you can swap shifts with someone.

Cons

Starting hourly pay varies based on "experience". No new-hire orientation, per se. Training is computer based. Part-timers only eligible for vacation if scheduled 1000 hours/year (averages to 20 hours/week). Problem is, you never average enough hours to be eligible. Inconsistant hours - may work 8 hours one week, 25 the next. Difficult to budget time and money. Extremely poor new-hire and on-going training. Extremely poor communication between store management and hourly employees. Nepotism. A lot of favoritism. Part-time cashiers (not sure about other departments) are scheduled to be "On-call" 1 day a week, which requires you to call in to see if you are needed. The draw-back is, you cannot make any plans for that day. Lack of leadership and people skills in those who hold positions of authority. Does not appear to be any developmental focus in this area at all. A lot of turn-over. Doctor's note required if you call out sick. For a part-timer, this may mean a week's pay or more if you do not already have insurance. Very difficult (if not impossible!) to go full-time.

Pros

You get paid every week.

Cons

• They talk to you like you're stupid. • Their tone becomes more aggressive when you don't brown nose them. • They don't lead by example nor implement any teamwork. • They make daily operations more difficult to complete as a flex. • They disguise their racism towards employees as company policy institution. • They become spiteful when you don't fall in line and take out their frustration on your workers while store management look the other way. • They talk negatively about you in group chats and emails. • They pretend to be inefficient when they don't want to help. • They harass & imprison your workers as soon as you clock out (by eyewitness accounts). • Management will sabotage your evaluation, hire special needs people for critical thinking jobs, & accept underperforming associates from other stores just to save money. • Higher-ups will deny qualified applicants employment while conspiring to hire the children of old classmates who purposefully show up to work late. • Store management will physically assault minors who steal on the premises and act openly racists to shoppers of color.
