I have been working at GLG full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I've been with GLG for more than five years and a few things have stood out to me during that time: - It's a meritocracy. If you demonstrate you're capable, committed, and willing to work hard you're going to get more responsibility. - The level of transparency is incredible. Management's commitment to communicate company performance, projections, and strategic plan is pretty incredible. Not something you see in companies of this size. - GLG has committed itself to taking care of its people during these uncertain times. The company transitioned to WFH pretty seamlessly and, rather than just let everyone grind away, took a lot of steps to ensure employees were managing okay.

    Cons

Currently you can't take advantage of one of the biggest perks: the offices. There's been a lot of change. And while that can be stressful, the changes all seem to be for the better.

I have been working at GLG full-time for less than a year

    Pros

GLG is a great place to grow as a professional. It's rare to see established company with an entrepreneurial spirit function well. Also great to see a company that eats its own cooking. Throughout this time of crisis GLG leadership turned to expert advice to guide decision making. The executive leadership team has made sound decisions and shown compassion to employees as we all adapt to a new normal.

    Cons

A few GLG old-timers are stuck in "the way things used to be". For this company to thrive it needs to innovate and embrace new thinking and new processes - or a process. At times decisions are made as though we're still a 100-person company working out of a small house.

I have been working at GLG full-time

    Pros

    - Innovative business model - Promising future outlooks - Executive team demonstrates great leadership, especially amidst the pandemic and the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement - I've grown a lot from working at GLG

    Cons

GLG and the leadership team acknowledged the need for more diversity. Instead of just stopping at acknowledgement, we're working to address the issue and move the needle. I'm proud and glad to see progress! (but I think we're fixing that!)

I have been working at GLG full-time

    Pros

GLG shows you quite often, that an employee who has pride in their work product no matter where they sit in the organization, and being dependable, smart, and thorough can carry you through. You get what you give at GLG, and when you apply yourself meaningfully with pride and integrity, you are rewarded. Management has improved its transparency meaningfully in the past 6mo.

    Cons

If you are not an adaptable person as it relates to your day to day work, you will not be successful here. It is part of the culture.

I have been working at GLG full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

will give you a lot of responsibility will give you a lot of exposure and interaction with high level executives-- both from the client and expert side will challenge you, allows for some creativity in the role their management team has turned over in the past 2 years, very much seems to have a good group at the helm now. They try really hard to keep their employees informed, listen to them and making meaningful change. Their handling of COVID-19 was professional and very well done. Made sure their employees were comfortable working from home and had the equipment they needed. Great people work here, you will make a lot of friends Allows for internal mobility to find a role that you think would be better. requires you to over perform in your current role and the ability to make an convincing argument on why you will serve GLG better in the preferred role Allows for management opportunity it a young age

    Cons

will over work you, ask a lot of you sometimes feels like they don't compensate you enough for the work pay structure isn't always clear, bonus incentive isn't very motivating can be repetitive-- gotta stay creative and proactive to make sure it doesn't can feel like high school given the average age of the ATX office a lot of change, sometimes feels like change just for the sake of change. I think they are getting better at this, but very much a 'flavor of the week' company when it comes to initiatives still trying to keep moral and satisfaction up, I believe there has been fairly high turnover in the past. It is getting better will give young people management opportunities, this can be very good or very bad-- depends on who your manager ends up being. who your manager is makes a huge impact on your experience. Like the saying goes, "people don't leave companies, they leave managers"-- can be said for GLG

I have been working at GLG full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I've gained a lot of experience and worked with many different business units and teams in my first year at GLG. Everyone I've worked with has been extremely helpful and kind. GLG has an incredible network of people and there are always new things to learn.

    Cons

I think work life balance can be tough at times. It feels like long work hours are expected.

I worked at GLG full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Really great at giving opportunity to those who work hard - Development pathways to leadership or sales from project management within the Corporate division - Sales was quite autonomous and very young given the lack of marketing support when I was there. Therefore there was a ton of green space, making it easy to crush targets

    Cons

-Salary isn't the best in comparison to working in tech but if you do well, you can get great bonuses - Leadership was always in flux and definitely made it difficult to manage in that world
