Pros

The employees are wonderful people just trying to make a living.

Cons

I don't even know where to start, but to anyone considering working here RUN and don't look back. Everyone is simply miserable and hates their jobs, but feel trapped by the pay and benefits. Fear based culture where Management is told to threaten our employees with non-competes if they leave. No training or mentorship and the max increase we can give employees for job promotions is 7%. Multiple unqualified Directors having affairs and partying on Highmark's dime. The employees are well aware just too afraid to say anything for fear of being fired. They lie to their clients to cover up mistakes and have lower level employees deliver bad news to clients so they don't have to be held accountable. Highmark is a truly disfunctional and abusive workplace. Their reviews on here were so bad HR asked us Managers to put positive reviews to help their image....Disgusting propaganda and a truly unscrupulous and immoral company. Leaving was the best decision I ever made.

Nice people. Awful bureacracy

Pros

Work-from-home, flexibility. Good yearly raises and bonuses.

Cons

Corporate bureacracy. IT policies that restrict creativity. 400 forms to fill out to get anything done. Nearly impossible to be creative. Even though you can work-from-home, you basically have to work 12 hours a day to be successful at anything, due to slowness of systems and navigating the bureacracy.

Employer of Last Resort

Pros

There are no pros unless you are a Donald Trump fan and would like to work for a bunch of mini Donald Trumps.

Cons

Where to begin? Corrupt and unethical leadership that the entire city is aware of - when a company consistently rewards people who are having affairs and punishes those who want to work in a decent and harassment-free environment and to succeed on merit, something is seriously wrong. If you join, be prepared to be solicited for an inappropriate relationship by some of the most morally repugnant and physically grotesque people in the world, especially those at the very top.
