I worked at Lightspeed Research full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some very smart, action oriented employees keeping this place afloat. Potential for good interaction and co-development with other WPP Divisions.

    Cons

Fundamental trust issues with current management. Leadership when pushed by clients will resort to deep price concessions to retain business. Reflective of transactional nature of business. Underlying technology is outdated and company has been reluctant to invest. Increasingly core elements are outsourced leaving company vulnerable and morale very low. A very small percentage of panelists account for the vast majority of completes rendering data highly suspect on relevance and accuracy.

    Advice to Management

Kantar / WPP really needs to evaluate and shake up Lightspeed management. Previous review mentioned Americas CEO as having a used car salesman mentality, very accurate description. Very low standards for integrity jeopardizing what could be a great organization. Be truthful about tech and panel quality issues and fix them beyond patronizing lip service.

    Pros

Two work from home days, 20 days off a year plus 10 sick days from the start although I believe this has changed, flexible hours and decent work-life-balance when it's needed. Definitely good perks to have.

    Cons

Long hours, technical difficulties, new management still learning the ropes of what it takes to be a good manager, a senior staff that is a bully, but most of all, salaries are extremely low for the work we do. Increases are minimal and several fear for our jobs because of company stability. No room to grow.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the company but also in your employees. Perks can only get us so far.

    Pros

Work from home is probably the only pro. I guess also the fact that they won't fire anyone because they are stretched so thin

    Cons

office culture/environment. The work is meticulous and gets old very fast. There is also an insane amount of work for employees because they are so understaffed. Management plays favorites a lot and you don't receive any recognition for hard work. The pay is low and the office location isn't desirable. Most of the people in management positions shouldn't be managing people. Employee turnover is also really high.

    Advice to Management

Start showing appreciation towards your employees and paying them more. The office budgets are so cheap and there is no transparency whatsoever.

I have been working at Lightspeed Research full-time

    Pros

Pretty decent salary, good personalities in upper management, some days off and some flexibility, kitchen is always full of food

    Cons

Management doesn't want you to succeed
    Systems are sooo outdated
If you want to learn how things work nobody knows or they tell you it's not your job

    Advice to Management

Be positive, try to listen to your team and always offer words of encouragement and positivity to staff. Make sure employees feel valued for what they do and provide more advancement opportunities.

I have been working at Lightspeed Research full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work from home, thats about. Honestly not much good with this company. Good start up position but would utilize that and find a better position quick.

    Cons

Long hours, insane work, understaffed, ask too much of employees without enough pay. No recognition of hard work and show extreme favoritism. Upper management has no clue and expect employees to do too much.

    Advice to Management

Start investing in your employees and make compensation competitive. Also stop drowning employees in work and hire more people

    Pros

Stability, good work environment, nice people to work with. People are always willing to help.

    Cons

Promotions/ room for growth, raises are not good. Need more recognition if you can't provide a solid raise.

    Advice to Management

If raises are not an option more recognition goes a long way.
