I worked at Lightspeed Research full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some very smart, action oriented employees keeping this place afloat. Potential for good interaction and co-development with other WPP Divisions.

    Cons

Fundamental trust issues with current management. Leadership when pushed by clients will resort to deep price concessions to retain business. Reflective of transactional nature of business. Underlying technology is outdated and company has been reluctant to invest. Increasingly core elements are outsourced leaving company vulnerable and morale very low. A very small percentage of panelists account for the vast majority of completes rendering data highly suspect on relevance and accuracy.

    Advice to Management

Kantar / WPP really needs to evaluate and shake up Lightspeed management. Previous review mentioned Americas CEO as having a used car salesman mentality, very accurate description. Very low standards for integrity jeopardizing what could be a great organization. Be truthful about tech and panel quality issues and fix them beyond patronizing lip service.

I worked at Lightspeed Research full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work from home is probably the only pro. I guess also the fact that they won't fire anyone because they are stretched so thin

    Cons

office culture/environment. The work is meticulous and gets old very fast. There is also an insane amount of work for employees because they are so understaffed. Management plays favorites a lot and you don't receive any recognition for hard work. The pay is low and the office location isn't desirable. Most of the people in management positions shouldn't be managing people. Employee turnover is also really high.

    Advice to Management

Start showing appreciation towards your employees and paying them more. The office budgets are so cheap and there is no transparency whatsoever.

    Pros

Stability, good work environment, nice people to work with. People are always willing to help.

    Cons

Promotions/ room for growth, raises are not good. Need more recognition if you can't provide a solid raise.

    Advice to Management

If raises are not an option more recognition goes a long way.

    Pros

There are quite a few smart and likable people that work there - and care about doing right for the clients.

    Cons

The company lacks direction and spends more time and effort managing the parent company than they do the actual business.

    Advice to Management

    Invest in the main product.

I worked at Lightspeed Research full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can work from home once a week(but you don't really get to choose what day). Medical/Dental, 401k offered. Get your own company owned work phone. It's a good company to have on your resume if you want to be in market research. So glad I started here.

    Cons

High turn over rate which forced me to leave. Managers know their stuff but they are not people persons. It's frustrating as a project manager when coworkers are constantly leaving. Company itself is losing money which seems a bit scary- probably explains why we are understaffed. Long hours at times

    Advice to Management

Ask what your team wants and give it to them. If you satisfy your team, you won't see such a high turnover rate!
