I have been working at MRI Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great culture, learn a lot of senior engineers and get to work some great projects depending on the team. A lot of trust goes to Engineers and opinions can be heard about ideas for current projects.

    Cons

Pay is a little low but good for Cleveland area out of school. Some teams are basically only working legacy code and with internal apps from the 80s

I worked at MRI Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are friendly and there is a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration.

    Cons

This is a great company to work for if you're a new grad starting your career. If you have any experience whatsoever, do not bother. The salaries are low and the hours are long. No regard is given to peoples' schedules outside of work and there is a lot of work scheduled outside of normal maintenance windows. You're pretty much married to your job, which is difficult if you have family obligations. If you're young and single, take the gig, get your experience, and move on.

Also, they lie to you about the 401K matching. The matching only happens in a lump sum in March for the previous year, and if you leave the company, you don't get it. So if you leave in November for example, you lose 11 months of matching. Total scam.

    Advice to Management

Spend less time trying to create a "culture" and more time trying to retain talent. Turnover - especially on the technical and support side - is ridiculously high for a company of this size. Interdepartmental communication is almost nonexistent, and morale is low. But hey, you put in a pool table. You get a cookie.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

MRI is growing quickly and looking to be the top real estate software suite of products on the market. From quarterly spirit weeks to ping pong and basketball in the office, employees can have a lot of fun, but when it is time everyone gets to work to get the job done and make the clients happy. PTO and benefits very good.

    Cons

Pay raises could be higher, and end of year rating system is a little bit confusing

I worked at MRI Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Positive Work Environment
    - Great for starting career out of school
    - Relaxed culture

    Cons

    - Unrealistic work-load
    - Low-Salary, only small-raise with promotions

    Advice to Management

If you want people to stay longer, then pay more. I don't think management is interested in paying more however.

    Pros

They allow you to truly develop the workplace qualities that will allow you to grow and become the type of worker you want to be.

    Cons

None for someone coming out of college.

    Advice to Management

Keep allowing people to develop. There are a select few micromanaging types in manager roles but overall it's a great team.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Can work from home, health care isn't horrible, work environment is great. CEO is moving forward with the company so there is room for growth

    Cons

Upper management will put more tasks on you than hours in the day, pay is low, expected to be available at all times. Have to sign a no-compete so you're stuck at a low salary.

    Advice to Management

Look at market values for same job. Average salary for a product owner is 90K around the nation, I know a product owner than makes half of that. Retain good talent by rewarding correctly.

    Pros

The inhouse cafe and onsite gym.

    Cons

Low pay. The company has a standard of pay that simply provides new industry entrants a starting place. No senior leaders here at all. The pay is on par with a bank teller to start. Have an MBA? Have software experience? Don't even apply. They sell the facility and the perks of an onsite gym and cafe in a vain attempt to cover low salaries and poor reinvestment in the company.

    Advice to Management

    Raise wages.

    Pros

Great vacation time and benefits. The enthusiasm and energy of this company is fantastic, and they are definitely making a comeback after some rough years. The owning company cares about the company and its vision.

    Cons

The only real downside is that the pay is a little bit low for the area, but it is made up for by their respect of work-life balance and benefits.

    Advice to Management

Keep the vision going, and keep up the energy. I love the enthusiasm you have brought to the company.
