I worked at MRI Software full-time for less than a year

    Pros

This summer was completely amazing. There are so many pros and I’m not a paid person or bot. - Met amazing people - All of my bosses and onboarding people were amazing and easy to work with - Assignments and work is pretty simple and easy to understand so don’t be afraid to apply. - They treat you like employees and you’re not getting coffee. I literally didn’t touch a coffee pot all summer. - Everyone enjoys talking...

    Cons

I honestly can’t think of too much to put here. I can put that sometimes the work is tedious BUT the actual employees are doing the same tedious stuff as you. So it’s not busy work but it will feel like it. Also, if you pay attention you will see that the stuff you’re doing is actually important to the companies structure. So all in all no real cons except maybe “busy work” that’s not really busy work.

    Advice to Management

From an intern perspective, maybe more after hours park meetings with the intern group or more outings.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Financially healthy, rapidly growing company. Friendly, helpful employees across every department. Necessary, challenging work. Growth opportunities in terms of leadership, mentoring, learning new skills, experimenting with new technology depending on workload. Vertical and horizontal mobility - within teams, same department, across departments. Limited micromanaging and supervision - walks, breaks, etc. Teams can...

    Cons

Keep in mind many of these may only be relevant to my team/department but most of these opinions are from my personal observations/opinions and how I feel things are trending over the past couple years. Subtle toxicity, negativity, and skepticism among employees towards company - enthusiasm is seemingly "forced," attendance to town halls is mandatory for some of PD even if a deadline is approaching (My team lost 3...

    Advice to Management

If you know pay is an issue and you know you have issues keeping senior positions, increase compensation. It's extremely demoralizing as an employee to see 3 companies bought by MRI in a single week while also knowing half your team got almost nothing in terms of raises and bonuses. Hire more QA people. The dev/QA ratio is atrocious and has been for a while. For as much as quality is brought up in town halls and...

I have been working at MRI Software full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Growing business, has long future ahead (if you're young), newly renovated headquarters, on-site cafe

    Cons

Internal transfers are difficult if not impossible (unless you know someone), management really does not see what's happening "on the floor", many departments work in silos (lack of inter-department communication), sometimes feels like a daycare (really, a Peeps diorama contest, Easter egg hunt and putt-putt competition in the office during the work day???).

    Advice to Management

Keep hiring young (and cheap) and allow too much "play" in the office and you'll keep losing the base of experience that's been building for 45+ years.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time for less than a year

    Pros

I love the environment! I’ve been at MRI for over 6 months and I can honestly say I’ve enjoyed coming into work each day. I’m fortunate to have a flexible schedule, the capability to work at home if necessary, the opportunity for growth, and I feel appreciated and recognized for my hard work. One of my favorite things is the “Shout outs” where you can recognize and thank others for for their extra efforts. I just think...

    Cons

It’s really cold in the office and the open/collaborative lay out is a little distracting. Ultimately, you’ll experience some drawbacks with any company of this size (and growing). SOPs take extra time, there is some lack of data integrity/consistency, certain individuals that cause friction or bumps in the processes. You’ll have these types of issues anywhere and I don’t think it’s a reflection of MRI or our culture.....
