I worked at MRI Software full-time

    Pros

MRI has some of the most amazing people I have ever worked with. The company had managed to combine a fast pace work environment with a sense of family. You become very attached to the people you work with and you will be amazed by their hard work and dedication.

MRI also does a good job of rewarding those who go above and beyond. They have a program that allows fellow employees to nominate one another for a free mini vacation.

    Cons

You can not be afraid to work. You will have very little down town and some days/weeks you will work long hours.

    Advice to Management

My managers were pretty great while I was at MRI. I would just suggest that a few of the managers focus on telling their employees they are doing a great job.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They allow you to truly develop the workplace qualities that will allow you to grow and become the type of worker you want to be.

    Cons

None for someone coming out of college.

    Advice to Management

Keep allowing people to develop. There are a select few micromanaging types in manager roles but overall it's a great team.

I worked at MRI Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Positive Work Environment
    - Great for starting career out of school
    - Relaxed culture

    Cons

    - Unrealistic work-load
    - Low-Salary, only small-raise with promotions

    Advice to Management

If you want people to stay longer, then pay more. I don't think management is interested in paying more however.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Can work from home, health care isn't horrible, work environment is great. CEO is moving forward with the company so there is room for growth

    Cons

Upper management will put more tasks on you than hours in the day, pay is low, expected to be available at all times. Have to sign a no-compete so you're stuck at a low salary.

    Advice to Management

Look at market values for same job. Average salary for a product owner is 90K around the nation, I know a product owner than makes half of that. Retain good talent by rewarding correctly.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Love the people I work with.
    Great support from managers.
Decent company outings every quarter and usually at least one event per month.
Work is easy, training is great.

    Cons

Almost no room for advancement unless someone quits (which happens pretty often).
    Communication between departments is horrible.
Other departments that do less and not as difficult work get rewarded way too often and they are treated like children.
If you do a great job, you get rewarded by receiving more clients and no extra pay.

    Advice to Management

Spread out the work. Reward people for their hard work. Be more open about things going on in the company. Communicate better with other departments when you are frustrated with how their team is doing.

I have been working at MRI Software full-time

    Pros

+Good benefits and opportunities for graduates, a perfect entry to the workforce
    +An overall friendly atmosphere

    Cons

-There's definitely a "kool-aid" culture at MRI. You're pressured to conform to their ideals.
-There's inconsistency between departments in regards to opportunities. Some departments you'll be able to grow, while others feel like you're stuck in your position.
-You're (at times) held to unrealistic standards. They can make a 97% approval rating feel like a disappointment. Some say you're set up to fail.

    Advice to Management

Show love to all of the departments. Let everyone feel like they're appreciated once in a while. You can only be as strong as the weakest link.

I worked at MRI Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The inhouse cafe and onsite gym.

    Cons

Low pay. The company has a standard of pay that simply provides new industry entrants a starting place. No senior leaders here at all. The pay is on par with a bank teller to start. Have an MBA? Have software experience? Don't even apply. They sell the facility and the perks of an onsite gym and cafe in a vain attempt to cover low salaries and poor reinvestment in the company.

    Advice to Management

    Raise wages.

Really good work environment, excellent leadership from CEO.
Assistance in career growth and training is provided.

    Cons

Need improvement in salary raise/hikes, communication between departments can be improved.

I worked at MRI Software full-time

    Pros

The people are great, and you have a chance to develop meaningful work relationships with your peers and managers. There are also a lot of opportunities to advance in your career and gain valuable experience. The CEO does a great job of motivating employees and developing a great work culture.

    Cons

Depending on your role, there can be a lot of long days. But it's really how much you want to make of your role and take advantage of the opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Not much to recommend. Management should continue to find ways to get employees engaged in company challenges and provide opportunities for employees to develop and advance.
