I worked at NETSCOUT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

CEO - original founder of netscout is a strong leader. I was amazed by his one principle - I will not hire willy nilly only to let go of my employees... it's ok if we are growing little slowly but we won't grow at the cost of our employees. I have yet to see a CEO who adheres to such principles.

    Cons

A lot of old timers are now middle managers and holding the company back in terms of innovation.

    Advice to Management

    Hire smart managers from outside.

    Cons

-Need more focus on product quality. robustness, & documentation for long-term success

-Low career mobility: company will freeze or reverse plans on raises/promotions and there are constant reorgs

I have been working at NETSCOUT full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

401k match, health insurance, vacation and sick leave are good

    Cons

Old school thinking, high level management is stuck in the good ole boys club.

    Advice to Management

Get the CEO to worry more about the company than his book. Ego is a huge problem. Read your reviews and do something about it.

I worked at NETSCOUT full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good compensation plan and RSU program

    Cons

The CEO still runs NETSCOUT like a $300M company, even though revenue shot to over $1B with the merger of Danaher companies almost 3 years ago. They have done a pretty good job of killing the competition through acquisition, but when you kill the products and run off the best Account Managers, the revenue will follow. The company is now $1B in debt and continues to prop-up the stock with buybacks. This has to catch up with them and unless they make changes, they will be back to a $400-$500M company in the next couple of years.

    Advice to Management

If you aren't willing to accept change and stop kneeling at the feet of your CEO, then you need to leave. Take your RSU's and run!

    Pros

Senior management truly cares for the employees, they are treated with respect and are compensated well.

    Cons

Director level employees are stuck in their old ways and push back on nearly everything. Asking for anything has felt like a huge burden on them. If you come from an acquisition, you're in for a ride.

    Advice to Management

Look for additional flexibility in your business practices and learn from the people that you acquire.

    Cons

Insane expansion by President which the company was not equipped for, causing unnecessary stress and loss of seasoned talent .

    Advice to Management

    Gentlemen, retire.

I have been working at NETSCOUT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

NETSCOUT can count on a very good and diversified workforce located around the world and working very well together as a team.

    Cons

Management does not listen to employees. Upper management makes all strategic and technical product direction decisions without listening to their employees and customers. Upper management and a few people from the inner circle are making all decisions in this company. This is a large company managed like a mom and pop shop.

    Advice to Management

This company would benefit greatly from its management being less stubborn and egocentric and to start to listen to all their employees. This would allow them to maximize the potential of this company.
