I worked at NETSCOUT full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good compensation plan and RSU program

    Cons

The CEO still runs NETSCOUT like a $300M company, even though revenue shot to over $1B with the merger of Danaher companies almost 3 years ago. They have done a pretty good job of killing the competition through acquisition, but when you kill the products and run off the best Account Managers, the revenue will follow. The company is now $1B in debt and continues to prop-up the stock with buybacks. This has to catch up with them and unless they make changes, they will be back to a $400-$500M company in the next couple of years.

    Advice to Management

If you aren't willing to accept change and stop kneeling at the feet of your CEO, then you need to leave. Take your RSU's and run!

I have been working at NETSCOUT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Senior management truly cares for the employees, they are treated with respect and are compensated well.

    Cons

Director level employees are stuck in their old ways and push back on nearly everything. Asking for anything has felt like a huge burden on them. If you come from an acquisition, you're in for a ride.

    Advice to Management

Look for additional flexibility in your business practices and learn from the people that you acquire.

    Pros

    401K benefits, Vacation time,, RSU

    Cons

HQ has issues working well with other sites.

    Advice to Management

HQ: Visit your other sites and see what they are doing. Other sites might have better ways of doing things. Products are different at each site and cannot be measured the same way. Make adjustments and get comfortable with change.

Insane expansion by President which the company was not equipped for, causing unnecessary stress and loss of seasoned talent .

I have been working at NETSCOUT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

NETSCOUT can count on a very good and diversified workforce located around the world and working very well together as a team.

    Cons

Management does not listen to employees. Upper management makes all strategic and technical product direction decisions without listening to their employees and customers. Upper management and a few people from the inner circle are making all decisions in this company. This is a large company managed like a mom and pop shop.

    Advice to Management

This company would benefit greatly from its management being less stubborn and egocentric and to start to listen to all their employees. This would allow them to maximize the potential of this company.

    Pros

Great work life balance, very talented engineers

    Cons

Very little upward mobility, little to no raises last 3 years

    Advice to Management

Trim the fat. There are way too many older "senior" developers who are content with staying there and collecting a pay check without challenging themselves. There is a reason why all the young talent leaves.
