I have been working at NETSCOUT full-time

    Pros

NETSCOUT has a friendly culture which promotes job flexibility. The salaries are very good

    Cons

Sometimes it can be difficult to move to other positions in the company, or find new experiences internally.

    Pros

Good exposure to technology and some nice folks on the engineering teams. I learned a bunch of just how much mayhem (malicious traffic) is going on constantly on customer deployments. I really enjoyed the "mission".

The company culture was nice but the culture in my group was not.

    Cons

There is a degree of primadonna-ism that is allowed to persist in some individuals that have been there for a long time. This element spends a good deal of time publicly criticizing peers and other groups. It's not helpful and divisive and makes one reluctant to ask for the benefit of their experience in situations you know they've seen.

    Advice to Management

Watch the chat list for a while and you'll see what I'm talking about.

    Pros

Great company that treats its people with respect. Great product. Great people. Willing to let people take initiative and otherwise grow in their fields. Willing to allow people to explore other roles in the company.

    Cons

No one ever leaves, so it's hard to move into management.

    Take care of seasoned employees...

    Pros

Peers and coworkers are very dedicated. Company does allow for some flexibility that make it easy to balance work and family

    Cons

Many leaders lack the maturity needed for success. Still operates like a start up business

I worked at NETSCOUT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you want to show up and get paid for doing "good enough", this is the place for you. If you want to be told what to do versus being able to self manage, this is the place for you.

    Cons

All decisions begin and end with the CEO. Do not come into a role here thinking that you will be able to use your brain and opinions to help the company to reach corporate goals. They hire and acquire really smart people who are capable of making huge impact, but they place little trust in those people to do their jobs well. It is sad, because Netscout could be making big gains; however, between the lack of trust in their employees and the all elderly male review they have running the show, Netscout will suck the life out of everyone there and maintain status quo in the market.

    Advice to Management

It will not ever be heard, but it is time to get some younger minds in the top with some diversity in thought. Even their marketing is tailored to the aged. Nothing young and fresh here.

    I worked at NETSCOUT full-time

    Pros

Some really great rank and file employees. CEO thinks of employees as a family, but it is a totally dysfunctional family. Work life balance is good, but commensurate with the average compensation.

    Cons

Toxic people who curry favor with the right executives are rewarded with promotions and managerial positions. I had an string of managers that were hated and despised, but somehow kept their jobs for too long.

    Advice to Management

I doubt they would take any advice but their own.

    Pros

Health benefits can not be beat.

    Cons

HR doesnt seem to handle employee issues very well. Managers need to trust their employees.

    Advice to Management

Move on. Do something about middle management. Talk to your lower level employees.
