I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good Work/Life balance, good PTO, lots of projects and opportunities. People are nice to work with.

    Cons

No 401k match, not so good health insurance. Do not give much salary raise and the promotion/compensation system is weird.

I worked at Opera Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - You can take on a lot of responsibility very early
    - Opportunities to develop both technical and client-facing skill sets
    - Relaxed culture. Business casual, work from home/remote on almost all projects
    - Good selection of drinks/snacks, coffee machines, pool/ping-pong in office
    - In-office gym (it's small but never crowded) and showers
    - Regular happy hours
    - Transparent and accessible leadership

    Cons

    - Missing documentation on many processes, both internal and external. Things done on the fly - not as big of a con if you pay good attention from the start
    - No 401k match
    - Haven't paid bonuses in several years

    Advice to Management

CEO has vision and company has real growth potential. Keep hiring quality people, continue encouraging an office that is close-knit, active, and welcoming. Train more comprehensively on your proprietary products. For those that can come in, embrace the vision, and advance the business - recognize this and compensate well. The business will live or die by these people.

I worked at Opera Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Strong AI/ML and analytics strengths married to a good track record of traditional consulting. Impressive client list with opportunities to make your mark.

    Cons

Opera is trying to transition from a consulting organization to a platform provider (SignalHub). The strategy is clear; the tactics not so much. Work is interesting but heavily siloed. Satisfaction is hit or miss based on the client team and your manager.

    Advice to Management

Complete the transition and realign the staff,

I worked at Opera Solutions full-time

    Pros

Friday lunches, offices, most of the people

    Cons

Lack of business acumen in their domain led to constant grasping at straws.

    Advice to Management

Focus on selling solutions instead of selling everyone on the company.

I worked at Opera Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people around me were great and I learned much from them.
Most candidates don't appreciate how nice the location is, which is great.

    Cons

Leadership changes direction often and you hope it's a one off mistake and then it happens again in few months. Leadership has lost the trust.
Bonuses first were reduced and more recently disappeared altogether. Don't do this for money.

    Advice to Management

Stay in one direction for couple of years. This implies that you need to truly believe in your direction from the beginning. If the direction absolutely has to change, then make sure that the next direction is good.

I have been working at Opera Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Culture of the company is good. Lots of activities!!!

    Cons

Software Solution & Analytic teams are average. All the solutions need so many people to support and deliver. Every solution's team is working in their own world without any guidance. Related leadership doesn't even bother, to protect their interests.

Software leadership is below average. No concept about SDLC. Lack of coding skills & Communication in the software team is worst.

Senior person (not CEO) who supposedly running the show has no clue about the issues and not willing to fix any, if they are not aligned with his agenda.

    Advice to Management

Please look into solutions problems, especially two main big clients.
