    I worked at Opera Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Good base salary. Great view of NYC from Opera office in Jersey City.

    Cons

    Opera had a very high employee turnover rate.

    It had originated as a consulting company that now wanted to be software company. I don’t believe they understood the buying process of healthcare providers. Opera healthcare team members and managers were quite arrogant (smartest guys in the room mentality) in presentations with providers and had the expectation a contract should be signed immediately after doing a demo (more like a feature dump) with a healthcare system. This type of selling is/was a huge turnoff with healthcare system influencers and decision makers. When prospects asked for client references, former clients were provided as references (yes, FORMER clients!). Also, travel approval had to go through multiple layers of management resulting in last minute booking of travel due to the amount of time it would take for approval. This not only made booking travel difficult, but more expensive.

    Advice to Management

    You may want your managers and team members to ease off on the "we are the smartest guys in the room" attitude. Learn how healthcare providers buy software (don't shove product and arrogance down their throats).

    You will learn some experience about data analysis in different industries.
    Projects base.

    Cons

    a large proportion of data analysts team is in China and India, which means team members are possible not in the same office. update info by the phone call.

    Pros

    Working at Opera has been a great learning experience. There are lots of opportunities to grow, develop, and challenge yourself professionally. Tons of company perks i.e. parties/happy hours, monthly birthday celebrations, book club, etc.

    Cons

    Steep learning curve, but Opera has a lot of training opportunities

    working remotely is the only pro.

    Cons

    No communication, company is putting all it's money and resources into Signal Hub, and nobody even really knows what it is, and what makes it so special.

    Pros

    1. Flat Structure - leadership is extremely approachable. I am constantly speaking with CXOs on and off project. Very inspiring...
    2. Work directly with Client - exposure is beyond words. I have worked in ZS before - and this is markedly different here
    3. Really great team/ mentors
    4. Constant focus on learning and growth.. Happy with E3 activities that have come up...

    Cons

    1. No support on sales side - constantly dragged into sales support

    Continue to add great talent, good clients and keep up with the current momentum.

    Pros

    - Talented, ambitious colleagues contribute to a great working environment
    - Flat structure means good advancement opportunities and accessible management (can work directly with VPs even at entry level)
    - Great work hours and flexibility compared to most consulting firms
    - Recent initiatives include improved employee engagement programs, a revamped review process to encourage professional development, and even more social events
    - Many opportunities to learn and take on responsibility even at an early stage

    Cons

    - Office located in Jersey City rather than Manhattan (although the commute is convenient)
    - Longer project engagements than most consulting firms (can gain deeper knowledge of an industry, but less exposure to different industries)

    Advice to Management

    - Keep up the momentum with improving employee engagement, training, and development programs
    - Continue encouraging mentorship by managers to junior level employees

    -Growing company (business opps and tech expanding rapidly)
    -Flat structure, easy to move up

    -Office location (less than 20 min from most places in Manhattan)
    -Amazing work/life balance compared to competitors (hours of software company but work of a consulting firm)

    -Steep learning curve (responsibilities can grow quickly)
    -Little room to slack off due to small size
    -If you're looking for consistent business travel like other consultancies, there are only a few projects that require travel

    Pros

    Very hard and challenging problems with wide domain spread.

    Cons

    The Sandiego office is currently swamped with one Region people. There are zero interactions with the rest of the people which makes it hard to even learn things from others. The so called COOL awards are not cool anymore because of this.

    Please excuse me for being open. I do not intend to hurt any feeling. Diversity is required in a company to work as a whole. If people do not talk in English, it is so NOT COOL and IRRITATING. you do not understand anything they talk, it brings up a huge barrier between cultures.

    Advice to Management

    Get some diversity and open up teams to interact.
