I have been working at Protection 1 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good air conditioning, good location, hour lunches. Not horrible pay. Most reps in customer service kansas are pretty nice people. Good trees.

    Cons

Customers and supervisors, control center, other departments are so disrespectful and hateful. But you can't say anything about it or to them. Management and sups stand around talking all day or smoking. But if you need one, nothing. No commissions or bonuses, and even if you have pto you still get an attendance points even with calling in.

    Advice to Management

You say you care about your reps. you need to act like it

I worked at Protection 1 full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I could work existing customers for upgrade sales

    Cons

    You require too many meetings.

    Advice to Management

Stop with all the meetings - Daily phone meetings (sometimes 2 in a day), weekly sales meetings, then mandatory sales blitz. Your comp plan isn't worth it.

I have been working at Protection 1 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This could all change now that Protection 1 has "merged" with ADT. For now, their pay rates are relatively high for similar positions. There is a lot of opportunity for advancement but... (see cons list). The CEO gets a thumbs-up despite my cons. He walks around and talks to every employee on site visits. He gets brownie points.

    Cons

Training and development is not a strong suit, particularly for leadership roles. People who are good at their current jobs tend to be promoted into management, even if they have little to no management skills. There is little in the way of continuing education and training once you reach a certain level. Training and development for lower levels is, at best, "so-so." Get ready to sink or swim. If you are a swimmer, you will likely do well.

    Advice to Management

When you don't include employee well-being in your bottom line, you are missing crucial data points. Involve yourself in current business academia, listen to fellow leaders from other companies, hop in your time machine, and get to the present. Investing time and resources in your employees is profitable.

    Pros

Friendly Team atmosphere and good facilities. Management was understanding of work life balance (within reason)

    Cons

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on employee comfort, every thing they do is a reflection of the brand.
