Pros

The company is quiet. It is located in the good part of Oakland. Near startups for other opportunities when it's time to leave ReadyTech!

Cons

Management is not loyal despite what the director and owner convey! It's all talk when they recruit you. My friend and colleague worked here for 4 years as the designer. He made a couple cordial feedbacks to management on employee benefits and they unexpectedly escorted him out the next day. They outsourced his duties overseas to Ukraine. How's that for loyalty and open door policy for you? Don't worry....by the time you found out who wrote this. I'll be out of here!

When the colleague you refer to left the company, I sent a candid company email explaining the reasons behind the decision. It was in no way related to any feedback this person gave to management, nor was the position outsourced. In that email I also invited anyone who had questions or concerns to come talk to me. We are lucky at ReadyTech to have a level of stability that is uncommon in the tech industry, and that means we have not had the upheaval of cyclical hiring and layoffs that is the norm for many tech companies. And that is great, because we do value everyone on our team, and we rarely have to make a tough decision such as the one above. You say you will be "out of here" soon. In that case, it couldn't hurt for you to talk to me about your concerns. I would hear you out, and perhaps we could even come up with some solutions. I welcome you feedback. Pros

The company is quite small and close to Bart. Great co-workers. Customers are nice. Learn some things not to do.

Cons

Management runs it like a mom and pop. It is quite unbelievable here. You have to see it to believe it. It's not a startup or even an organized company. Management don't care about your feedback. You have to avoid uttering a single word while you work.

Yes we are a small company and are somewhat unstructured and informal compared to larger companies, for me that is one of the reasons I like it here. But despite the informality, we are fair, professional, organized, and overall pretty decent. Regarding the claim that you have to avoid uttering a single word at work. We just don't work that way. I will assume it is a metaphor for not feeling heard, and I regret if that was your experience. We do care about feedback. We have implemented many ideas that came direct from the staff in the 4 years I've been here. Of particular note, we conducted an Employee Survey in 2017 which resulted in decent satisfaction scores (overall average score of 4 out of 5), and an excellent set of action items in areas we want to improve. If there is anything you want to share with me directly, I welcome your feedback. Amanda, Director of Finance/HR, amatthews@readytech.com, 415-203-3714

Pros

Readytech has open jobs every month. It's company started in the 90's. New employees every month seems like.

Cons

There's a reason for the high turnover. Folks don't enjoy working here. You have to swallow your pride to satisfy the owner, sales, and non tech folks. Bonuses and 401k match not a sure thing every year.

The dollar amount of the Profit Sharing Bonus is not guaranteed because it is based on ReadyTech's profits, which may fluctuate from year to year. However the percentage of profit allocated to the bonus and the formula for calculating the bonus are applied consistently each year. The 401k match is a generous 33.3% match of employee contributions, with no cap, 100% immediate vesting. You are unlikely to find this level of match anywhere else. Since the match is a %, the dollar amount will be dependent on how much the employee chooses to contribute. We do value our employees and I hope that if there are reasons why anyone on the team feels undervalued, they would feel comfortable speaking up or speaking to me directly. I welcome direct feedback.
