Media & Entertainment industry friends and fans cheer on the Dodgers at our annual Point B “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” event.
A great group of Point B'ers attended Girl Scouts of Western Washington's recent G.I.R.L. luncheon in downtown Seattle. We heard empowering and inspiring stories from current and former Girl Scouts who reminded us that every girl can be a go-getter, innovator, risk-taker and leader.
Jake Brick, a Senior Associate in Point B's Dallas market, shares why he joins Bike MS each year:
“As a transplant to the Dallas area nearly 7 years ago, aside from my wife and her family, I hardly knew another person in the city. Building roots, deeper connections and a wider network became a priority for me. Beyond making new friends and becoming part of a neighborhood, I’ve always desired to be more involved in my local communities to get outside my comfort zone, meet new people and make an impact.
Opportunities to participate in events like the Bike MS ride, are unique in the awareness it brings to community, the stories it shares of those affected by MS and the direct benefit volunteering brings to the cause are why I’m excited to be able to be involved.
100 years from now, people won’t remember how well I wrote status reports, but if I can help impart change where it matters in the long run, I’m all in."
Congratulations to Point B Senior Director Karen Curtis! She was just named a Top 25 Consultant in the Nation by Consulting magazine. Karen was recognized for excellence in healthcare. We couldn’t be more proud of Karen and all that she brings to her clients, teams and the healthcare industry every day. Read more: http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vMPBq
Point B Senior Associate Devang Shelat shares why he joins Bike MS each year:
"Riding in Bike MS gives me a chance to connect with my teammates, improve my community and, most importantly, help fund research for an important cause. Bike MS means a lot to me personally because I have friends and family who live with multiple sclerosis. Hearing stories about their day-to-day challenges has helped me understand how important it is to help those impacted by MS and find a cure. I ride for the hope of one day seeing my friends and family live their lives free of MS."
Our people are committed to giving back to their communities. And, our longstanding relationship with Seattle Works is one that we are proud to foster. Thank you to all Point B'ers – including the great group pictured here – who dedicate time and energy each month to volunteer across Seattle-area non-profits, schools and parks. Nick Niver, a Senior Associate in Point B's Dallas market, shares why he joins Bike MS each year:
“Deep down...this was my chance to give back and connect with the DFW community after a long hiatus. I started traveling full-time right out of undergrad and, while my mailing address was in Dallas, I spent very few nights a month here over the course of seven years. I missed connecting with my community and wanted to find an outlet to give back. Bike MS was a natural way for me to engage – and help others in need – especially at a time where I felt personally disconnected from my community.”
