This Earth Day we're hosting a meeting-free day so that Point B'ers can have a little extra time and flexibility to mark the day and give back to their communities.

Meet Point B co-founder and board member Jim Hodge. We recently caught up with Jim to learn about what Black History Month means to him. âBlack History is my mother's weary chestnut eyes, witness to a thousand atrocities that she'd never shareâeyes that looked back at me with anxiety and unease each time I announced plans to hang with friends down the block or at the corner store. Would I return? Whole? She knew Black History is at the center of everything in America, or that it should be. Still, full of hope, my mother prayed for a world where merit and character were enough. I pray for that too.â
Meet Jolina Harris, Consultant and co-leader of our Blacks at Point B (BaP) Business Resource Group. Hear what’s on her mind as a celebration, reflection, and education for #BlackHistoryMonth gets underway for all of us here at #TeamPointB. Tell us a little bit about why you were inspired to lead BaP. I wanted to help create a safe space where I could fellowship with other people that identify with Black culture and understand the layered cultural nuisances. How is BaP helping #PointB celebrate Black History Month? This week, I’m looking forward to our Trivia Night event, in which participants get to test and deepen their knowledge of Black history, music, and culture. Who is a Black artist that people should learn more about? Currently, I have Blood Orange – a.k.a. Devonté Hynes and Yuno – on heavy rotation. Both are amazing artists. Anything else you’d like to share? Black History Month is the manifestation of what I see and how I feel about Black/African Americans year-round. It’s my Thanksgiving and Valentine’s day, all wrapped into one.
