Today we celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Jubilee Day, Freedom Day or Liberation Day. Short for June Nineteenth, Juneteenth marks the day in 1865 when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people knew of their liberation and were released – two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. In honor of Juneteenth, Blacks at Point B, one of our employee-led business resource group, created opportunities for education, reflection and celebration of this important holiday. Together, we renew our commitment to racial equity by showing up for each other, leaning into courageous conversations, pursuing understanding and elevating the rich history of our diverse communities.

We’d like to take a moment and share our gratitude for the conversations, events and celebration bProud, Point B’s employee-led LGBTQ+ business resource group, is leading for all in our Point B community.
In honor of Memorial Day, Point Bravo, our employee-led Veterans resource group, hosted a panel discussion to share experiences and provide insight into life in the military. The panelists talked about what motivated them to join the service, their experiences and also their eventual transition from military to civilian life. They explored the many and diverse opportunities for leadership during their time in the service, and how the duality of responsibility and trust has shaped the way they still lead today. We'd like to take a moment to share our gratitude for all who participated in this inspirational event by sharing stories, asking questions and listening with an open mind and heart. We look forward to continuing the conversation and growing a deeper understanding of the different perspectives our fellow Point B'ers bring to our customers, communities and one another.
