Today we commemorate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s service to humankind and his deep commitment to racial justice and civil rights. In recognition of this important holiday, our People of Color Business Resource Group hosted a roundtable discussion open to all Point B'ers on Dr. King's "Letter from Birmingham City Jail" that aimed to educate, create community and build advocacy. Our panelists explored the many ways that themes and language from his letter are still applicable today – with a keen focus on nonviolent direct action and its ability to create a nonviolent "tension" that, while uncomfortable for some, is necessary for change and for growth. We'd like to take a moment to share our gratitude for the leaders who stepped up to join in this event. We look forward continuing this meaningful dialogue about race and racism.
