The Geek Squad isn't timid about playing the nerd card. A business unit of consumer electronics retailer Best Buy, it provides consumers with technical and on-site technical support services for computers and electronics. Customers can also bring their technology problems to Best Buy locations or one of the six stand-alone Geek Squad stores stores for help. In addition to computer services, Geek Squad installs and supports home theater systems and car electronics. Founded in 1994 by University of Minnesota computer science drop out Robert Stephens, the company distinguished itself by dressing technical personal in nerdtastic ensembles featuring highwater pants and white socks. Best Buy bought Geek Squad in 2003.

Payless ShoeSource helps footwear enthusiasts shop like Imelda Marcos. A unit of holding company Collective Brands, Payless is one of the top shoe retailers in the Western Hemisphere. It has some 4,470 self-service discount stores, mostly in the US, but also in Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and Puerto Rico. Payless offers dress, athletic, and casual shoes; slippers; boots; and sandals for men, women, and kids. It targets women age 18 to 49. Its North American stores stock about 6,600 pairs of shoes in 500 styles. Payless also runs one of the world's largest shoe dying businesses, Dyelights. Payless parent Collective Brands also owns the children's shoe company Stride Rite.

With L.L. Bean, you can tame the great outdoors -- or just look as if you could. The outdoor apparel and gear maker mails more than 200 million catalogs per year. L.L. Bean's library includes about 10 specialty catalogs offering products in categories such as children's clothing, fly-fishing, outerwear, sportswear, housewares, footwear, camping and hiking gear, and the Maine hunting boot upon which the company was built. Lyft was founded in 2012 by Logan Green and John Zimmer to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation, and is available to approximately 95 percent of the United States population as well as select cities in Canada.
