Anonymous Interview Candidate in Toronto, ON
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at FCB Global (Toronto, ON)
I applied through a recruiter and had a phone screening interview with the HR department. The screening was simple and comfortable – questions were fairly straightforward. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back after one week, so I followed up. They rejected me, stating they wanted to hire a new fresh grad instead and thought I was overqualified (I had 3-4 years of experience at that time). Honestly, I felt confused as it didn't match their job posting at all. I felt that the company is a bit unorganized although it's a global agency.

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at FCB Global in May 2023
I am writing this review to express my deep dissatisfaction with the interview process at FCB Chicago, which I experienced firsthand a couple of months ago. As someone who was referred to the company, I had high hopes for a seamless and respectful interview experience. Unfortunately, my interactions with the hiring team left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. From the very beginning, I was led to believe that referrals were highly valued at FCB Chicago. During the introductory call, the emphasis on the significance of referrals gave me confidence that my application was in good hands. It was suggested that my qualifications were impressive on paper and that success in the subsequent interviews was the key determinant. However, my initial optimism quickly turned into disillusionment. After a brief call with the hiring manager that focused on collaboration and design processes, I had expected a smooth follow-up process. Instead, I found myself having to initiate multiple follow-up emails just to gain clarity on the interview schedule. This lack of proactive communication left me feeling ignored and unimportant as a potential candidate. The disheartening experience took a turn for the worse when I was informed that the final interview was postponed due to departmental reshuffling. Once again, it was my responsibility to repeatedly contact them to inquire about updates. After a two-week wait, I was informed that the role I had interviewed for had been eliminated altogether, and a new position, UI Designer, was suggested as an alternative. What was more baffling was the fact that after expressing their commitment to referrals, the communication simply ceased. I was effectively ghosted by a company that claimed to value such connections. My experience with FCB Chicago's interview process reflects a lack of respect for candidates' time, effort, and professionalism. The series of postponements, lack of transparent communication, and ultimately being cast aside for a different position made me question the sincerity of the company's commitment to its candidates. It is profoundly disappointing to see an organization that boasts about valuing referrals and qualifications treat a potential employee in such a cavalier manner.

Connected via recruiter through LinkedIn. There were multiple rounds of interviews with different employees - the whole process took around 4 weeks. All nice and welcoming interviewers who made me feel comfortable answering questions.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FCB Global
Recruiter originally reached out to me with a title and salary range that didn’t work for my needs. They called back a week later stating I could be interviewed for a more senior position. The interviews with the team were positive, spoke with 3 people, got a feel for the work and was ready to join. Recruitment called back with a salary offer that was still too low, had their manager call me to tell me they were offering me a chance to grow, and that’s why they couldn’t offer me even the salary matching any of my last 3 roles. The tone was more condescending, and turned me off from the entire experience. The misdirection of omitting the salary range of the senior position, even when I was transparent about my expectations, putting me through 4 interviews, and then the conversation with the recruitment manager leaves more to be desired.

Multiple Interviews You talk to at least 3 different employees. They ask a variety of questions: Why FCB? What kind of experience do you have in marketing? What do you like to do for fun? Why this role? What ads stick out to you?
- What is an ad you've seen that has stood out to you?

I applied for the Marketing Science Analyst on LinkedIn and I contacted the hiring recruiter who posted it on LinkedIn. He responded back to me on LinkedIn if I am interested or not. I replied yes and I would like to set up for tomorrow at 11 am, however, he didn’t bother calling me for my phone screen interview and just wasted my time.
