      Recruiter Interview

      Feb 15, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fast Enterprises (Denver, CO) in Jun 2021

      Interview

Initial phone call with a recruiter, about 30 minutes. After that, I received an email with more information about an additional interview and basically an IQ test. The whole thing took about 2 hours. Really needed a job at the time, but didn't really want this one, which probably showed. Not very thorough or personal communication, I got the impression that I'd be a wheel spoke in the team.

      Interview

Shameful hiring practices, that prey on novices and those not yet confident in their skill set. TL;DR - Rescinded offer with no feedback. I interviewed with FAST for 6 hours, 3 of which were virtual with unwelcoming Recruiters (not even a hello how are you, just straight to it) and 3 hours of in person interviews with delightful staff which I was flown out for. The team was comprised of a very homogeneous group - one gender, no POC, all started as new grads. After which, I received an offer letter and two phone calls from HR and a Recruiter congratulating me on the offer with a week to decide. I was ecstatic about the offer, the relocation, and benefits - however as one does in this day and age, I sought to negotiate for a higher salary (5% more) reflective of my experience above the jobs requirements. I let the HR rep know that I was flexible and very excited for the role - not a hard cut off for me at all. Overall I thought this was a very pleasant negotiation. I rejected an alternative offer from another company I received while waiting to hear back from FAST (20/20 is hindsight). Which I did, halfway through my decision period, when the HR rep called to let me know they had decided to rescind my offer and that they had no feedback for me. I asked for the opportunity to clear up any concerns and if I could accept the original offer - their response was all to but hang up on me. Immediately all those I met in the process ghosted me. This was absolutely crushing news that left me in tears. Why my offer was rescinded, I have no idea. Did I ask them too hard of questions regarding their hiring practices, their questionable reviews on Reddit and GlassDoor? Did they not like that I tried to respectfully negotiate? Was it because I’m not a spineless new grad and they found one that accepted a low ball offer? They hadn’t even yet conducted a background or reference check. Regardless of why, my professional network thinks I dodged a bullet as they could have very well rescinded my offer later down the line / laid me off in a few months, like others note in their reviews, after I uprooted my life and moved across the country. FAST demonstrated their predatory recruitment practices and disregard for human decency clear as day.
