The entire process took over 6 weeks.
I first applied to the position and about a week later a recruiter reached out to schedule a phone screening. After the phone screening the same recruiter requested a video conference interview about a week later.
After that I was invited to a panel interview in person. When I arrived they presented me with a case study with some general information and gave me 60 minutes to prep a presentation on the information given. After you finish the presentation they have you walk through your resume and then ask 10 behavioral style questions. The whole interview took three hours.
I felt I was a pretty strong candidate for the position and they let me know they would be in contact by the following week. After I hadn’t heard back I reached out to the interviewers asking if a decision had been made. They told me it went to an internal candidate.
They did encourage me to apply for another opening in the area and said I was a good candidate. I believe they even reached out to the hiring manager and told them I would be applying.
After I applied to the same position in a different territory, the same recruiter reached out and told me they would be in touch to schedule another panel interview. A couple weeks pass and they schedule a video conference with a panel of three. This time around it was much shorter and seemed very rushed. They told me I would hear back within a week, but even after a follow up I didn’t get a response.
Considering I spent ample time prepping and even wrote up a sales plans and presented a brag book catered to the position, it would have been courteous to get a call or even an email letting me know they went with another candidate.
Had I received a note or call from the hiring manager I would have given the experience a neutral rating.
