Carried out the interview in January 2025. Initial interview was carried out by an Internal Recruiter. The feel of the interview felt off from the start and I could sense from around 2 minutes in that I didn't have a chance of getting through to the next round.
The recruiter seemed to be pretty dismissive of my experience even though I have strong technical knowledge in the required field and have managed a number of large high performing teams.
I am not really sure what a 30 minute interview with a recruiter achieves beyond being a basic vibe check. With no technical understanding themselves I feel like they end up losing talent as they don't understand the technical requirements enough to make a detailed assessment. I just felt that something was lacking in the process and I could have at least had a chance to highlight my experience in a bit more depth.
