I was reached by phone by the Milan HR office, they probably found my CV on the database of my university because I never applied for a job at this company. I was invited at their headquarter in Agrate (Milan) to meet the HR manager and a Senior Engineer. They asked to bring with me CV, a copy of my degree and my last pay-sheet. First thing when I arrived they made me fill a form where I had to specify my studies, my work experience, my language skills etc, I basically had to write down my CV by hand.
Second thing the interview with the HR manager. In 30 minutes of interview I had the chance to speak only 2-3 minutes, the rest of the time was taken by her to explain me why I should be craving to work at their company, how cool they are, what a great experience it would be etc. The interview with the Engineer went a little better, he gave me time to introduce myself and describe my background.
Turns out they were looking for a recently graduate engineer or a person with < 2 years of experience (which I am not). I wonder what is the point of inviting people for an interview without reading carefully their resume. A waste of time for them and for me.
