Tech & Outreach Intern (Digital Systems & Wildlife Conservation)
Internship Details
About the Opportunity
Chase Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservancy is offering a hands-on, mission-driven Tech & Outreach Internship designed for students and recent graduates interested in technology, digital systems, and real-world problem solving within a nonprofit environment.
This is not a passive or observational role — interns take direct ownership of live systems, real data, and active projects that keep the sanctuary running. From managing the digital infrastructure to supporting public-facing outreach campaigns, Tech interns make a measurable impact from day one.
Interns work at the intersection of IT operations, digital marketing support, and content production — building skills that apply directly to careers in technology, systems administration, and digital communications.
About Chase Sanctuary
Chase Sanctuary & Wildlife Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing exotic animals and advancing conservation through education, habitat development, and species preservation.
We care for 240+ animals across 70+ species and rely on a small, dedicated team to run day-to-day operations. The Tech & Outreach Intern plays a critical role in keeping our digital systems organized, functional, and effective so that our mission reaches more people and our team can focus on the animals.

Active Projects (Current Cycle)
The following are real projects currently being executed by Tech interns. New interns will onboard into this pipeline and take ownership of ongoing or next-phase tasks.
Full reorganization of the sanctuary's Google Drive: cleaning folder structure, consolidating duplicates, eliminating outdated files, and improving discoverability across all departments. Includes collaboration with Outreach, Operations, and Admin to surface valuable buried resources.
Research and proposal for a continuous or long-duration live streaming solution for sanctuary animals. BarnOwl cameras have already been evaluated. The intern is responsible for identifying alternative hardware/software setups, comparing cost, reliability, and video quality, and presenting a recommendation. Final solution must integrate with YouTube and/or the sanctuary website.
Systematic removal of the sanctuary's phone number from all public online directories, replacing it with info@chasesanctuary.org. Platforms include Google Business, Yelp, Florida Agritourism Association, and others discovered during the audit. Includes documentation of all changes and identification of auto-scraping sources.
Ongoing WordPress maintenance including resolving 404 errors on financial statement pages, uploading and archiving newsletters, managing forwarding/tracking links, and supporting a broader website revamp focused on aesthetics and conversion.
Technical support for outreach campaigns: ensuring destination pages and tracking links exist, contact capture flows into the correct systems, and all campaign assets are properly archived. Systems: WordPress, Ecwid, Harness, WaiverSign, Mailchimp, and analytics tools.
