I have been working at Coach full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Discount and flexibility of hours

    Cons

Management has been in the company since the year of the flood and have no idea how retail is operating in this century. They sell you on being people oriented during the recruitment process but only care about metrics. As an employee there are so many metrics you don’t know what to focus on tied with all the back of house procedures the company isn’t really focused on customer service or what it really means to be luxury. Brand is delusional in thinking they are part of a luxury market. They gear their advertising to tweens and twenty somethings but the actual customer walking in the door are the mothers and grandmothers of afore mentioned. Brand needs a reality check.

    Advice to Management

Reevaluate back of house procedures. Pick a focus and stick to it stop piling it on. Your regionals, district and areas need to stop micromanaging. Make your internal customers your focus - after all it is the year of the customer. Oh and your uniforms need an overhaul - they aren’t luxury as they are poor fitting and cheap, they also don’t relate to the image of the brand. How can your associates feel authentic, confident and ambassadors when wearing these unfashionable garments?

    Pros

Friendly & supportive environment, great benefits, thorough and continual training, generous monthly sales incentives that aren't commission based. I was promoted from within the company and can confidently state that they reward initiative, hard work and dedication to the brand.

    Cons

Overall direction and focus seemed to shift often as the company was in a period of reinvention/re-branding, but this may not necessarily be a negative thing for others.
