I have been working at Concentra full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    1. You get out what you put in. Internal promotions are common in corporate. People stay for their entire careers because there’s a lot of opportunity.

    2. You can easily move between teams. I know people who have started out in customer service and moved to sales, others who started in a clinic and moved to operations, and others who moved from their original team to start their own for a new product or service.

    3. On some teams, it’s a very startup-like environment. What might be a 100-person organization in a company of similar size is 10 or fewer here. It means there’s a lot to do, but also a lot of opportunity to impact things and get great experience, especially for people just entering the workforce. It’s an excellent place to grow.

    4. It’s a small company at heart. Don’t be fooled by the number of employees. The corporate office is small, and everyone knows everyone else. Photos of employees and their families line the walls, and people really do make an effort to be kind and welcoming, especially to new hires.

    5. In corporate, most teams offer flexible schedules and remote work days. Strong family focus. Free perks: onsite gym. Not free, but still perks: onsite dry cleaning, daycare, cafeteria.

    Cons

Healthcare is hard at the corporate level. There’s a huge amount of information to learn, and while you’ll come out with a lot of transferable knowledge, the learning curve can be steep. This isn’t exclusive to Concentra, but just be aware if you’re coming from another industry. Everyone will help you get up to speed, but it does take longer than in less complex industries.

I have been working at Concentra full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Strong leaders with a focus on improving the patient and customer experience. Streamlined process and procedures focused on making it easier for centers to provide quality care.

    Cons

Have made considerable improvements in technology and communication. Always opportunities in these areas but corporate is striving to make it perfect.

    Advice to Management

Continue the strong focus on outcomes and clinician support.

    Pros

You get many opportunities to learn something new and get great work experience as well as the chance to work with amazing people.

    Cons

One job title can have several responsibilities that can cause issues like stress or feeling run down and can have a ripple effect on the rest of your tasks.

Offering separate incentives other than company run bonuses would/could improve staff morale/ create good competition to provide greater customer service.

I worked at Concentra full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A chance to see what a work environment from the 90's was like.

    Cons

Despite what company officials claim, if you are looking for purpose-driven work, if you are seeking a career with growth and future development, if you want a work-environment that supports your unique talents, if you want to be part of a company that welcomes diversity and inclusion, do not apply here. Concentra is a company that only looks out for its bottom line and does not care about developing its employees. It considers employee culture a box to be checked, not a philosophy. The only growth opportunities are available to clinicians in the field. If you work in any other position, you are likely stuck in that role. They claim to promote from within but are more apt to hire from the outside. Seventy percent of its leadership are new hires within the last three years, while tenured employees continue to be overlooked. Its programs and policies are outdated and don’t reflect the wants and needs of today’s workforce. They claim to want to have a world-class workforce, yet don’t offer the benefits and pay it takes to attract or retain the very best. They offer an employee survey only when they are positive they will receive good results. Leaders aren’t interested in true feedback nor do they act upon any negative feedback. Hard work and success in your job are not enough to move ahead at Concentra. It’s a good-ol’ boy network of favors and golf course deals that will get you ahead, and those opportunities are only open to the select few. Unless it makes money, the organization is not interested in any type of initiative that will improve the experience for employees, employers, or patients – even if it’s the right thing to do.

    Advice to Management

Be open to others' ideas. Be humble and admit fault. Recognize your weaknesses and areas of limitations, and make active plans to improve them. Support your employees first - they create the customer experience. If you screw over your employees, they will impact your service delivery. You may be the biggest in your industry, but you are far from the best.

I have been working at Concentra (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Love some of the people I work with

    Cons

Management. Haven't received a raise, let alone any sort of positive feedback from anyone I work with. There is no such thing here. The company as a whole may be great, but this branch is an absolute nightmare. Do not work here.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the people who work so very hard for you. There's only a few of us due to being severely understaffed. Shouldnt be too hard to say thanks to everyone should it?

I have been working at Concentra full-time

    Pros

You get to meet new people daily and work as a team.

    Cons

There is not a lot of diversity in the clinics anymore its mostly Hispanic only and it really shouldn't be that way. We do need translators but there needs to be a balance of hiring all race's of people. A lot of Spanish being spoken in private conversations not patient related.

    Advice to Management

There really needs to be someone who invest in investigating issues in centers and not brush things off. The Spanish the is spoken should only be for patients not for private conversations that exclude other employees

I have been working at Concentra part-time

    Pros

Big organization. Just acquired one of its competitors.

    Cons

Lots of talk about patient care, but little real concern. Lots of talk about research, but it's data manipulation.

    Advice to Management

Take your millions and go away.
