Pros
Excellent scheduling, you have the availability to work almost whenever. There is certainly potential for a decent income here, but keep in mind that a majority of our employees (80%) make less than $36,000 annually. I was initially hired on under the impression that $36K would be minimally achievable when in reality you have to grind hard for it. Which I will continue on down below....
Cons
In my time at this company I have seen much change, within our management, our scheduling and the way we are paid. Here is a brief description to give you a better understanding; Cellular Sales, and it's sales representatives are paid on 100% commission, each representative is given supplemental, "Draw" checks that will be paid back to the company once an employee has earned a commission check. Because of this, the typical (80%) sales rep here does not receive a commission check until the 3rd - 4th month of being on the sales floor. Keep this in mind as you will only be paid your hourly draw that you owe back to the company ( Hourly draw is 12.50, typical hours are maximum 35... 35 * 12.50 = around 700 bi-weekly after taxes) You will also be sharing your sales with each of the members on the sales floor for that day. I would like to provide an example, as it is necessary and important to have a better understanding. If a rep sells an iPhone (which has no bonuses or "spiffs"), typically it will generate around$60 dollars in profit. This $60 dollars is then split not with just you and the company, but also the reps on the floor with you. So, if you sell that phone and only generate $60 in profit and have to split it between 6 of your shift-mates then you will only be paid for $10 of what you did, which typically takes an hour. Now of course this also means that any phone sold on the floor will be shared with you, regardless of whether you helped or not. From the sounds of it, it seems good in theory, although what this results in is lack of effort, because your paycheck will always be cut in half.... UNLESS, like a noteworthy amount of this company is doing, you sandbag the walk-in clients. Any appointments that you have whether personal or scheduled are 100% unshared. As a result, many of the employees, "fake" appointments so they can unshare you entirely. Unfortunately this is un-trackable within the company. As are most sales jobs, it is VERY cut throat. Lets go back to that iPhone for a moment. Currently, the way you receive your bonuses monthly is determined by your overall statistics as a salesperson. Multiple factors determine how good a sales rep may be, one of the more substantial ones being ACCESSORY PROFIT PER DEVICE. It is exactly as it sounds, it is your accessory sales profits generated per each device. So by selling that iPhone without any accessories, you will in turn be reducing your overall statistics, thus eliminating your bonuses each month. This results in our clients being lied to and being mislead about our, "bundle packages" so you can meet your numbers and make your bonuses. TL;DR - Company has changed its pay 8 different times in the time I've been hired. - You are on 100% commission but will rely on your team for your paycheck, with a shared system. - You likely will not receive a commission check for the first 3 - 4 months. - A substantial amount of employees will find a way to put more money in their checks, while taking some from yours (this is untraceable) - You will be forced into conning people into buying things they usually would not buy if they knew the FULL truth. Central Florida, has hired on nearly 800 employees on in the past year (2018), while in the past 5 years they had only hired on 1000. This company has had a large turnover for very viable reasons. Please do not be mislead If you find yourself still interested, by all means, do your investigation.
