I have been working at HNTB full-time

    Pros

Large projects that give you the ability learn and grow your career. Several talented employees with expert knowledge.

    Cons

Not much of an emphasis on work / life balance. All about the OT so the company can make more. Stock program is scary. One bad project can kill the stock in one year.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the people you have and treat them well so they want to stay.

I worked at HNTB full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Most of the people I dealt with were great, but my boss wanted me to have a complete understanding of 6 systems within 6 days of 1/2 day training, when I didn't he threatened to fire me. He did this to the previous employee who quit after 2 weeks.

    Cons

If you want to have a family life forget about it. They expect 24 7.

    Advice to Management

You need to take a hard look at areas in your company that has a large turnaround. When you invest in people and they are leaving after a short time. There are issues and Management training needs to be looked at.

I worked at HNTB full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Profit Sharing and health benefits.

    Cons

I can't believe this company has been in business for over 100 years and still no solid process. Company continues to hire the wrong people. Little training is involved. Biggest problem is inexperience management causing good people to leave. Manager is too busy to manage and worries about her own work and priorities They say you are eligible to bill over time and when you do, they give you a hard time so basically you can't bill over time!
