    I worked at SoundCloud full-time

    Pros

Cool product, smart people, and a great culture.

    Cons

Not profitable, just laid of 40% of the staff, and they do not have a clear path forward.

I worked at SoundCloud full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some of the most caring, funny and hard working people I've met
    Open culture that welcomes criticism
A lot of hard work can allow you to make your mark and an impact
Balanced structure for training and support

    Cons

    Salary
Offices located all over the world that are co-dependent means slow communication
    High employee churn

    Advice to Management

People want to stay within SoundCloud, but limited career growth and stagnation drive them out. SoundCloud's hiring process is rigorous and for good reason, you've managed to hire amazing people. Keep them around by taking their feedback and foster their growth within the company.

I worked at SoundCloud full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great vacation days, parental leave, and health + dental insurance
    - Health and wellness budget
    - Learning and development budget
    - Fun product
    - Nice office
    - Many people devoted to making the product and company better

    Cons

    - Toxic people in high positions who manage not to get fired
    - Diversity & inclusion was said to be a priority but no one has time for it
    - People complain about issues but no one fixes them
    - Understaffed, hence the previous two points
    - Stressful because it's the music business
    - Technical career advancement is fairly impossible unless you are willing to move to Berlin
    - Management proficiency varies heavily because training is scarce
    - Some very incompetent people managed to get hired somehow
    - NYC office environment was very bro-y and competitive
    - Salary could be better for the amount and quality of work expected

    Advice to Management

Fire toxic people when they cannot be rehabilitated. Hire more people and ensure that they are competent rather than just likable. Build a real company culture and ensure that everyone lives up to SoundCloud's values – whatever those are.

    Pros

I have never worked, let alone been an intern for a place that was so much fun. Everyone here is passionate about what they do to the point that it inspires you to want to work at their caliber. And yes, they do work really hard, but they also know how to kick back and have a good time. Hands down, this is the BEST place I've ever worked!

    Cons

Sometimes there can a lack of communication, but speaking up will always take care of that

    I worked at SoundCloud full-time

    Pros

Great work environment, passionate people, and fantastic office culture and company values. Never felt like an intern since the day I started. Great company bonding events.

    Cons

Work can be demanding but it is well worth it. Not a very structured intern program since this was the first internship program at SoundCloud, but it will definitely improve by next round.

    Advice to Management

    Bring interns to Berlin?

I have been working at SoundCloud full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

SoundCloud has a dope cultural exchange program that allows employees who have been there for a year to spend 3 months working out of one of their other offices. Berlin trip anyone?

    Cons

From what I've seen, a lot of employees here are incredibly musically talented. Unfortunately, this makes them a less than ideal karaoke group if you're a terrible singers like myself.

    Advice to Management

I think the snack selection in the kitchens could use some work. A lot of them are too healthy. Also, if we're planning on continuing to innovate in the music industry, we're going to make sure we have enough Club Mate.

    Pros

With a relaxed culture, cool people, and great perks, working at SoundCloud is a dream. I've always wanted to work for a company that has a product I feel passionate about, but also meets my personal needs as an employee. Though the in-office performances and catered lunches help spice up the typical "9 to 5", the best part of working at SoundCloud are the people - they've quickly become friends, as opposed to just coworkers. I look forward to coming to work every day, and that's what matters most.

    Cons

Everything has been great thus far. Admittedly, I'm not working in my dream department, but even so, I've enjoyed learning the facets of a sector I may not have explored otherwise.
