I recently interviewed for a Senior Python Full Stack Developer role, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations for a senior-level technical interview. The interviewer asked a series of questions covering a broad range of topics, including Python (basic to advanced), AWS Lambda, and React. While the topics were relevant, the overall interview felt one-sided and mechanical.
The interviewer did not engage in any meaningful discussion or follow-up based on my responses. For instance, when I attempted to elaborate on how I implemented user authentication with both standard user-based login and SSO, there was no acknowledgement or discussion – the interviewer simply moved on to the next question without addressing my answer. This pattern continued throughout the interview, making it feel more like a checklist than a conversation.
I had prepared thoroughly and answered almost all the technical questions accurately. Still, the lack of interaction made it hard to assess what the company was looking for beyond technical recall. The next day, I received a standard rejection email without any detailed feedback.
