Question: Can you illustrate one of your past project?
Answer: In my wireless communication system course, my final project was to design a superheterodyne receiver which is in FM range. The antenna, preselecter and the second stage equipments were provided. I needed to build the amplifier, voltage control oscillator, and the IF filter for the first stage. The IF filter has a center frequency at 10.7 MHz with 200kHz bandwidth. The output signal from the preselecter would be first mixed with the output signal from the VCO to create an IF frequency of 10.7 MHz. Then the mixed signal would pass through the IF filter and then the amplifier. (I also draw a block diagram onto a white board).
PS: The recruiter is also interested in the details of the project. After my illustration, he also asked me about the testing procedures, for example, which frequency I chose for testing, how I avoid the image frequency and so on.
