REGISTERED ASSOCIATE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH THERAPIST

(TELEHEALTH ONLY)

HOURLY RATE: $37.00/hour (employee; no benefits offered)

LOCATION: Kids First Foundation of San Bernardino, Apple Valley (telehealth only)

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of Kids First Foundation of San Bernardino and the associated supervisor, the Behavioral Health Therapist (associate) provides behavioral health telehealth services to clients referred for assessment and assistance with the goal of facilitating and promoting appropriate behavioral health and personal growth. The Behavioral Health Therapist (associate) identifies the behavioral health needs of clients and develops therapy goals and objectives for implementation through an individual therapy plan.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provides individual, group, and family therapy services; completes required documentation for clients; develops and maintains behavioral health programs to meet client needs; conducts interviews, assessments, and observations; participates in special assessments, individual therapy plans, and other meetings; refers clients to other public/private community agencies as needed; participates in weekly individual and/or group clinical supervision; performs related duties as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience working with behavioral health programs as a BBSE trainee or student practicum intern;

Skill providing behavioral health services to clients and their families; conducting individual, group, and family therapy sessions;

Knowledge of therapy methods appropriate to meeting the needs of clients and their families; agencies and resources available to assist children; federal and state laws concerning family rights and behavioral health services;

Ability to identify the behavioral health needs of clients; work as part of a multidisciplinary educational support team, develop and implement appropriate behavioral health services; work independently; communicate effectively in oral and written form; maintain accurate records; meet established time frames; establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work;

Physical Abilities include sitting for extended periods, talking/hearing, and near and far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field of vision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Possession of Master’s Degree;
• Valid California Board of Behavioral Sciences registration in one of the following: Associate Marriage, Family Therapist (AMFT), Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC);
• Experience working with behavioral health programs as a BBSE trainee or student practicum intern;

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in the behavioral health plan process;
• One (1) year experience working with children in a designated age group in a therapeutic setting.
