Position Overview – HVAC Service Technician

As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for the full scope of HVAC service work—from troubleshooting and diagnosing no-cool situations to replacing complex system components such as compressors, coils, motors, and control boards. This role requires strong experience with inverter systems, two-stage units, Honeywell zoning systems (including diagnostic and wiring), and both standard and communicating thermostats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems efficiently, including refrigerant-related issues, electrical failures, and mechanical breakdowns.
• Service and replace HVAC components such as TXV valves, blower motors, capacitors, contactors, defrost boards, and control systems.
• Install and program smart and communicating thermostats.
• Interpret wiring diagrams and service schematics for zoning systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, system inspections, and airflow diagnostics.
• Upsell system enhancements and maintenance plans when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate clearly with dispatch and customers.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of verifiable experience as an HVAC Service Technician in the field.
• Strong knowledge of split systems, heat pumps, inverter compressors, and variable speed motors.
• Proficiency in brazing, refrigerant recovery and charging procedures.
• Familiarity with Honeywell zoning systems and fresh/makeup air controls.
• Ability to troubleshoot low voltage and high voltage HVAC electrical systems.
• Clean, valid driver’s license (a company vehicle and gas card are provided).
• Excellent customer service, punctuality, and professional appearance.
