I have been working at CA Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very smart and bright sales force. Support teams were very good as well. Great potential for making a lot of money. Driven by growth. Very good recent acquisitions.
Good Healthcare, 401k 4% match, Flex Work Schedule, Great Culture.

    Cons

Broadcom let go of a huge portion of the overlay sales org. And most management. Including critical sales ops folks.
Big on team goals and team pay. Less focused on individual success. Big on deferred RSU compensation.
    Hardware centric compensation model.
The Stock plan caused many people to stay but doesn’t kick in for year 1 so many will now leave.
Super flat org so little to no promotion / management opportunities.
There’s no mention of culture or thought given to any of the softer differentiators like that.

    Advice to Management

Fix the comp plan with the same speed that you closed the acquisition or we’ll lose a lot more good people. Compensation drives behavior towards the types of deals you want the team to book.
Everyone I know is either looking or keeping their options open.
We need more sales support folks (Presales and sales ops) so we can focus on closing business not on internal operations.
Continue to focus on R&D and product development.
