    Pros

This is a great company to work for. Amazing, smart people. Great Salary. Great Benefits.

    Cons

We focus only on CA's solutions. Long hours that can rollover into the nights and weekends which impacts family ti e.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in the people, improve the quality of products (less bugs) and focus on diversity.

I have been working at CA Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good work-life balance...sometimes. If you have a manager who adheres to the company's "DNA," you are fine and the days are great. It really does offer a laid-back atmosphere and is a fun workplace.

    Cons

Never a transparent management chain, annual layoffs. The salaries posted are totally inflated. No one makes as much as the glassdoor salaries say they do.

    Advice to Management

Too short-sighted. The annual layoffs create a culture of instability.

I have been working at CA Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are some good products. Veracode was a good acquisition and they're still good on the mainframe. They're profitable and the benefits are good. There are good people who try to help. Good in sales if you're on the large accounts.

    Cons

A lot of the products are falling behind and they are have some form of lay off every year. When they acquired someone they have to cut elsewhere to keep the headcount constant. The culture is fading and they don't commit to anything longer than 18 to 24 months, and usually 12 which makes it very hard to commit yourself to them.

    Advice to Management

Decide what you want to be and go that route. You're at the point where breaking up the company into product lines would be a good idea so they develop their own culture and sense of purpose instead of being swallowed up inside a large portfolio.

    Pros

-Genuinely nice people to work with
-Flexible work from home (depending on manager)

    Cons

-Management and lower level employees seem to be disconnected in every regard
-Teams that should work cross-functionally are often times left out of the loop

    Advice to Management

Focus on communication between teams so everyone is aligned

I worked at CA Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Excellent pay and benefits
    - Coming in as part of an acquisition, our team was left intact / allowed to function as a "startup" still for a few years

    Cons

    - Moving in the wrong direction with regards to remote work (shutting it down)
    - Laying off experienced management for newbies who are less than motivating
    - You must draw firm boundaries with management to achieve work / life balance here

    Advice to Management

Trust that your remote employees are valuable and doing their jobs
