    Great employees at least at the IT Department

    Cons

    The worse managers ever (bully managers that manage by intimidating employees)

    Advice to Management

    Replace the management team at the IT facility in Brentwood, TN as they are real bullies

    I have been working at Community Health Systems full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    -Free use of hospital facilities, you aren't billed for things like lab work or MRIs
    -Good place to gain experience

    Cons

    -Pay usually is not up to average market value
    -Company ignores industry standards
    -Aging equipment and infrastructure, no plans to update
    -Decisions often made at a high level with no input from those working 'where the rubber meets the road'
    -Most facilities run by a productivity spreadsheet, no thought given to market/community
    -Annual pay increases always around 1%, no chance for advancement

    Advice to Management

    The reason you have staffing issues is because too much is asked for too little pay. Pay scale needs to be revamped to allow different facilities to adapt to their markets. You also need to trust your staff at the facility level and allow them to make a few decisions. Otherwise, why are they even there?

    In general the people are nice.

    Cons

    Management is nice, but can ask a lot. Overall not bad.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the advice of your teams close to your thoughts. Use them, they are the ones that know the most about process, and ideas for improvement.

    Great staff
    Nice location and building

    Cons

    Stuck in the past when dealing with staff
    Promotions are not given to appropriate people
    Management has total lack of understanding
    Too many expectations, no time for life

    Advice to Management

    More recognition
    More opportunities for advancement
    Better work/life balance
    Upper management needs to realize who is really putting in the work and make sure they keep the good employees. Also, upper management needs to practice what they preach when dealing with staff

    Central location , easy to commute. Gym available.

    Cons

    Very clicky, who you knew was more important than what you knew.

    Advice to Management

    Get out of your office more so you can truly see what is going on. Lack of understanding about the job description and what it takes to work efficiently.

    Steady workflow, great manager, helpful co-workers

    Cons

    Pay was not what I needed it to be. I found it hard to progress in the company as there were no teaching moments. You were just threw to the fire. If you wanted to learn to code other things, you were on your own.

    Health Benefits is the only Pro to working for this company.

    Cons

    Low pay. Little to no raises. Little to no bonuses. Unorganized. Poorly managed.

    Advice to Management

    Hire people who know what they are doing. A degree doesnt mean experience.
