Used to be OK, went downhill in 2013

Pros

They'll pay for you getting certifications, and most of the people working there are nice. Decent PTO

Cons

Management at all levels seems disconnected or apathetic to what the employees are dealing with. Upper management seems unconcerned regarding employee retention by refusing to provide merit increases, and no cost of living adjustments. Then they're surprised when people take the skills that they've learned and gone elsewhere. New hires are paid roughly 75% of market value compared to HP, NCR, IBM, and others in the area. Health benefits are now no longer attractive due to onerous health metric penalties. CEO will send out emails with his peacock feathers out strutting about how much money was made, then turn around 2 weeks later and say they can't afford to pay for merit raises. There's a severe disconnect.

Pros

The individual contributors. The people are the ones who make the job enjoyable. Management sucks and the Executive "Leaders" are anything but leaders.

Cons

Where do I begin. Communication - non-existent. Executive team thinks associates are stupid and we can't figure out what is happening. Information came out in the media about Pomeroy merging with CompuCom and the CEO calls a meeting to tell everyone to not listen to the rumors and that CompuCom was acquiring the other business. Clearly rhat is a lie as CompuCom financials SUCK and Pomeroy is excelling. Then, it is a known fact that the Plano office will be closing. No one will address it yet all the associates there already know that come January, they will be out of a job. CEO doesn't want to announce as he doesn't want to have to pay retention bonuses. The organization is a joke and to bribe people to post positive reviews is icing on the cake.

No compensation for hard work

Pros

The people and peers make it worth being there. Ft Mill office is a cool space. Some people work really hard, and supporting clients, you feel like you have a mission and a team.

Cons

The building doesn't work. This beautiful IOT building doesn't have the technology to back it up. Wireless shuts down often, you cannot get good reception inside the office. And if you tell management, they get mad. Like, don't bring it up.... Especially if there are clients around. How can we sell IOT if we can't get it right in our own building? All the collaboration spaces really aren't collaborative, but instead cliques. People don't actually communicate with each other. I took on several new initiatives, new teams, and new leadership. Never with a raise, never a thank you, never an acknowledgement of a job well done. Just more work, no compensation change or any other benefit. From my leadership, from HR, from anyone outside the team I managed. People stay here a long time, almost by default. Because it doesn't suck enough, or because they are more afraid of what's out there. They are in a groove, and like the weather, if you stay long enough, it will change and go back to the way it was. We sell solutions to clients, and operations has to figure out how to deliver. It is always a complete nightmare to get it complete. Leadership is weak, we reorg every three months. They don't give enough time to let a reorg settle and flourish. They try to make managers do it all, and HR doesn't have support from leadership to affect change and say "stop, we need a moment to let this work."
