Make sure they pay mileage AND driving time.
Jun 3, 2023 - Assistant Manager in Minneapolis, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The pay is getting better, my pay jumped from 13.75 to 20.25 as an ASM.
Cons
Most dms do not tell hourly associates that they are supposed to be paid for drive time when they help out other stores. I drove 1.5 hours one way to another store to help, my drive time that they owe me is now 25 hrs. That I will not get. It's in the employee handbook fyi. They pay mileage, but don't pay for time spent driving when they are supposed to be.

Pros
You will gain a variety of valuable job related skills and deal with literally every personality type
Cons
It is a meat grinder that will exhaust you if your staff isn't long term or competent Very high performance expectations for the hours given and heavy work load. Customers can be rude. Under staffed and wages are unacceptably low, particularly for cashiers and stock people, so heavy employee turnover. Few perks, no bonuses for lower management. Kind of a meat grinder.

Pros
There’s nothing nice I have to say about this establishment.
Cons
There is no room for advancement You’d probably have to be here for longer than a year to even be considered and this job is not worth it. No a/c which is fine during the winter but not during the scorching Texas summers. They also play favoritism, which is a weird place to do so but if it’s all you’ve got have at it. I’m sure one of my bosses were on drugs and did some less than reputable things to the store after hours. If for whatever reason you need to call out or reschedule (yes even for emergency) they will initially say yes but end up giving your shift to somebody else on the rescheduled date. They always tried to schedule me to close even though it was out of my availability and I always communicated so. There’s way more but I don’t have it to get into it, And they only pay 7.25. Don’t apply for this job unless you absolutely need it, they will most likely hire you.

Pros
Liked some of my co workers
Cons
I was being stalked and harassed by a customer 40 years older than me. After bringing it to the attention of my manager she shut it down. I was too afraid to come into work and they told me I would never be allowed to work there again because I was being "inconvenient". The store was ALWAYS dirty, "cleaning" consisted of sweeping the floor with a dry mop that had been collecting dirt for YEARS. They overworked you and only rewarded you with a 10 minute break after working 6 hours, in which you had to use your break time to buy a snack and a drink and wait on the one line that was open.

Pros
This used to be a great company to work for but it has changed in past 2 yrs for the worse. I do not recommend working there.
Cons
Upper management issues an edict without a firm understanding of what is being asked or the resources needed to make it happen. Discussion and possible modifications of programs is no longer allowed. Everyone has to get onboard or else. Company no longer cares about employees. They are to be used and discarded when no longer needed.

Great place to work part time
May 23, 2023 - Retail Sales Associate in Saint Paul, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great people Flexible scheduling Managers in general are very flexible and accommodating to staff Easy advancement The work isn't difficult
Cons
Not enough hours for associates anywhere between 4hrs a week up 20 hours. Great associates only get about 15 to 20 hrs unless promoted Higher expectations than big box stores for less pay Unwilling to reduce hours when extremely short staffed making people work 13 hour days with only one day off a week if your lucky
