I'm getting tired of candidates getting mad/complaining at me when I reject them for an HR Manager opening. I'm sorry, being a cashier/stocker at dollar tree does not make you qualified because you "work with people."

Short, but easygoing. Very typical. However, you should want to prepare your answers beforehand and always ask a question before the interview ends. Do not decline and say that you're good. Asking questions regarding concerns for this role will help you in the long run.

it was great, but also interesting. There were times I didn't realize a position like this would be offered at a company like Dollar General but it went well!! I felt the recruiter was very knowledge about the candidate being right for the position.

Had a phone interview scheduled about 5 days in advance. The day comes and the lady on the phone didn't know who I was or which location I applied. I told her which position and location and she informs me they already filled that role. Then why are you interviewing me? huge waste of time. Interviewer seemed very uneducated and unprofessional.

Phone screening with recruiter interviewed over the phone with DM. I then interviewed over the phone with regional. Interviews went great. I was offered the job and told HR would be sending me an email then days go by no email the DM kept telling me they will send it so I thought nothing of it. It's been over 3 weeks now I still have no email and now the DM won't answer my messages. Who is that thoughtless and awful. Apparently the folks at Dollar Tree They simply are not good people stay away from this company

Interview Tips

Feel free to post any interview questions you might be asked and I’ll help you compose an effective response :)

Project Coordinator

I recently applied for a “Project Support Officer” this from the job description it’s pretty much a Project Coordinator/ Manager position. And I have been asked to create a poster to promote an event for young people that have long term health conditions. Now my question is why is the job advertised exactly like a Project Coordinator position, but Im asked to design a poster?! How can that reflect my experience within the project environment? It makes 0 sense to me.

Development Engineer

Had a peculiar 3-month interview with a scientific organization. Initial online presentation, followed by an unexpected in-person interview, still evaluated by the committee. Salary undisclosed; only relocation package mentioned. The team was satisfied, awaiting HR director approval, requesting references. 2-3 days later, before sending references, informed they chose another candidate. No response to emails; HR silent. Was I backdoor checked?

RFP Coordinator

I have a 5 year gap in my work history due to an illness. How do I explain this? I can't lie, SSD is on my background check as a previous employer. I am on it and looking to re-enter the job market and get off of it, but I understand it is a reason for employers to pause in hiring me.
