Pros

Great perks and employee benefits, although the benefits have diminished since 2023, it still is offers better benefits than most gaming companies by a long shot. You get to work with incredibly talented and passionate people and you get to work on awesome projects.

Cons

Development and work feels process heavy. At the same time big decisions and pivots are made by a few at the top. There have also been a lot of restructures the past 3 years which disrupts continuity and work that is already in the pipelines. Career advancement is unclear, you can get promoted quickly from junior until mid level. After that it seems very difficult and unclear how to progress further unless you enjoy good mentorship. It does not help that Riot overall is quite top/senior heavy.

Pros

Passionate co-workers who are all hyper talented, amazing fringe benefits, work/life balance, dedicated managers to help you with your career, and passionate players to serve.

Cons

Egos are rewarded you have to be really good at self promotion, the company is so big that you can feel lost if you don't invest in networking often, layoffs happen at Riot now

Pros

Great benefits, pays well, can work on some very interesting problems.

Cons

Work hours are from 10-7 and hardly anyone actually works that, so stuff can move at a snail pace. Getting help from central teams can be painful, especially if they're way off hours. Some of the culture can get a bit overwhelming too and you can end up feeling pretty lonely if you don't drink the koolaid.
