I worked at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - great team members and co-workers
    - people in the office very polite and respectful
    - decent benefits with low cost

    Cons

    - management game playing, back stabbing and lack of honesty
    - lack of transparency
    - lack of team level support, meaning management just looking out for themselves

    Advice to Management

Follow the Lifetime Way, not just on paper, but in everyday work and actionable/measurable ways. Preaching it in meetings and in front of other is not the same as actually doing it

    Pros

    Excellent benefits. Improving workplace culture.

    Cons

Definite age bias in hiring and promotions.

    Advice to Management

Review your interview and hiring practice for age bias. Look at the reasons why employees over 45 are no longer promoted.

I have been working at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay is decent and they have great benefits if your part of their click, or are a friend!

    Cons

Bias, Prejudice, and if your minority you have no chance of moving up or placed in a leadership role of any sort. They hire friends unqualified and are clicked up. They use the same tactic to keep all minorities down and also being open & honest will damage your reputation. They cover up for each other when they know they are doing wrong, and I will NEVER recommend anyone to work for this company!

    Advice to Management

Advice to all superiors, nothing will change unless you break up these clicks and allow qualified individuals a chance to make it a great place to work. Exposing supervisors, managers, and Directors will only hurt people whom are trying to be successful. They gang up on minority individuals and write us up to cover themselves from the dirt they do and use that to keep us quiet! Basically it’s working like a slave, head down, and no words or opinions!!!!
