I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good elementary development, encouraging staff and motivational individuals, good company benefits and range of roles and skills to be trained in

    Cons

often shift work, inflexible working and holiday entitlement, low pay, from one extreme to the next between being underemployed and overly worked for the salary paid.

    Advice to Management

show the employees you care by fighting for them in plain sight, maintain transparency and continue to show care they way you have been

I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    flexible work
    Good pay
    Relaxed work environment

    Cons

    Getting worse as an employer
    Don't take mental health seriously
    London office is a joke
Need to be Asian to work in some departments
    Poor management in senior levels
    Restructure every year
Too many contractors that don't do anything- yet think they run the place.
Free Costa Coffee- is tastes horrid
    Canteen is poor

    Advice to Management

Discrimination is rife in the workplace.
Support employees with mental health issues, not push them out the door.
    Stop the restructures.
    London office needs new management
    Get rid of the contractors
Better internal communication- what do they do in London?

I worked at Whitbread full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There were some nice people working there.
Observing silent reactions when I handed in my notice (written as I'm struggling for 20 words of Pro's)
Other than that my experience was pretty underwhelming.

    Cons

Non-existent induction, forgot to pay me, had to use my own laptop and phone, had to chase up my car, lots of people telling me they'd been there for donkeys years - just generally made to feel unwelcome.
Really disappointed as I had heard a lot of good things about this company but once I started I found it rather institutionalised in behaviour and respect was seemingly based on length of service rather than ability.

    Advice to Management

    Make "outsiders" welcome.

I have been working at Whitbread full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Huge growth plans, nice people, fair reward and significant opportunities for training and progression

    Cons

Most people are not full time in London (head quartered in Dunstable) but there is a London office and flexible working policies

    Advice to Management

Given high growth plans, increasing workloads we need to focus on recruitment and getting the right people in

I have been working at Whitbread full-time

    Pros

Supportive company when it comes to career progression/ development! Engaging company to work for, recognised for hard work & achievements!

    Cons

Support centre facilities could be more in line with modern ways of working - facilities and office space quite dated which is a shame when the company invests so much money into the operations side of the business.
