I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Flint Hills Resources
The interview process was prolonged, 90 minutes each with 4 rounds of interview. Most of the questions were behavioral. However, the worst part of the interview was that after all 4 rounds when it was time to decide for go vs no-go, the team decided that I did not have the necessary technical skills for the position. Something that must have been apparent from day 1. There is a huge communication gap and expectations gap in the interview process at this company. Disappointed!
- 1. Explain how you handle teams? 2. How to groom Sprints etc?

I interviewed at Flint Hills Resources
Was told to schedule 2 In person interviews one after the other after receiving a phone interview a week prior. Very Professional. Was given a brief tour and met with the team members before the interview process.
- What types of challenges have you overcome in your most recent position.

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Flint Hills Resources
Talked to the Koch Industries Booth at the career fair. I was told to apply online so I did. I then received a link to conduct a video interview where it prompted me to answer questions and then look into the camera and record my response. There was about 10 questions total. After that round I was selected to do an onsite interview for the final round which consisted of about 4 interviews with four different engineers throughout the company that I think all had a leadership role.
- Typical behavior questions. "Tell me about a time when..." -Some on conflict with others you have worked with -Some on when something didn't go right -Talking through your projects in general from past experience

First HR will call you and ask basic behavior question. Then they will decide to move forward or not based on your answers. If so, they will schedule in person interview where you will meet with multiple people.
- Tell me a time you disagreed with your boss and how you handled it.

Anonymous Employee

Their interview is based on behavior-based interviews for interns. I applied for a process engineering intern role, they were very understanding and overall it was a great interview. I would suggest looking over the MBM principles and see how you can connect your experiences to the MBM principle guide.
- How did you overcome disagreements in group settings?

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Flint Hills Resources
Straight forward, several panel interviews consisted of a lot of situational questions. Also a lot of behavior situational questions. Understand MBM principles to better your chances at achieving your goals.
- Tell me what is your greatest weakness?

Anonymous Employee
I interviewed at Flint Hills Resources
Pretty intensive interview. 5 interviews by 5 different members of the team, so it took most of an afternoon. They do a great job of making it conversational though. A lot of situation based questions, so come prepared with plenty of stories of how you conducted yourself from previous jobs.
- Describe a time that you recognized a procedural inefficiency and how did you react?

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Flint Hills Resources
Very safety focused. Recorded video interview first, then an in person panel interview. Panel interviews can be intimidating but everyone seemed quite nice. All questions asked were safety oriented, swa, lock out tag out, future goals with regards to safety.
- Please tell us about a time you used stop work authority.

Anonymous Interview Candidate
I interviewed at Flint Hills Resources
Communicated with the recruiter for the most part and had one behavioral interview. After the interview, they said my recruiter would be in touch with me regardless if they made me an offer or not.
- Tell me about a time where you had to deal with a difficult team member?

Anonymous Employee
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Flint Hills Resources in Feb 2021
Interview was about an hour. Mainly consisted of the typically "star" questions where they ask you about a situation and want you to describe your actions. The key point is to tell them mainly about your interactions with others and how you respond to conflict.
- Tell me about a time when you disagreed with a coworker.
