IQVIA Senior Software Engineer - Test Automation interview questions

It took about four hours. During the initial recruiter agreed for a package because I was already discussing an offer with a different company. Once the recruiter confirmed that they would consider the expected CTC, I went for an interview. There were three rounds, Two technical and one managerial and it all went fine. Once the interview was over, they informed me that I was only one selected by the panel and I was asked to submit the documents. Then after a couple of days, I got a call from the recruiter stating that they would not be able to provide the expected CTC but rather nearly 25% less than what we have agreed upon. Rightly I declined the offer. So I am unsure why she had accepted the same before the interview was set up and why these pieces of information are even asked before even setting up the interview. It would help in the future to not provide such expectation to the interviewee.
