I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at US Marine Corps
Interview
talking to your recruiter couldn't be easier. Be honest and answer all the questions as best you can. theres a waiver for almost everything so don't be discouraged. Sometimes you apply for a security clearance too

I applied in-person. I interviewed at US Marine Corps (Lewisville, TX)
Interview
Checked for heartbeat and test scores. Scored well immediately sent me to training. Background check took months but was just paperwork joined at a time where they were literally taking everyone.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at US Marine Corps (Lancaster, OH) in May 2013
Interview
A long serious of tests and continuous challenges. First, I had to take a rather unconventional test called the Defense Language Aptitude Battery that tests language acquisition ability. I took the test after attending traffic court the whole day and barely passed. Secondly, I had to go through the physically and mental rigors of Basic Training and Combat Training. Next, my mind was grilled upon the furnace of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in Monterey California. Academically, this was the hardest portion of my interview and testing process. I almost failed here as well but with help and a little hard work I succeeded. I was changed forever after this process but it only increased my desire to serve others.
