I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2013
Interview
Phone interview with hiring manager followed by a homework assignment, and final onsite interview with 4 interviewers, including the VP of Engineering (at the time). Decision was made within the next few days. Background check and references were mandatory prior to receiving an offer.
Two interviews with team members and managers, nothing to prepare beforehand. Both interviews were online, 30 minutes each round (5 rounds in total), very pleasant experience which made impact on my decision to accept the offer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
About projects, past experience, ideas for working there.
After receiving my application, prior to any interview, Yelp sent me a written assignment to complete Which consisted of 4 prompts involving writing mock emails and sock communications, scheduling fake interviews, organizing fake travel arrangements etc. (The assignment was 3 pages long). After completing the assignment, I received an email that it was being reviewed and would hear back “ASAP“. After a week I followed up, and two days a later was told that it was still under review. It has now been a total of 14 days with no response. I found this very disappointing as I spent the time to complete a rather long assignment and was told I would be contacted. Poor candidate experience!

Never got to the interview portion, as I was ghosted after the assignment.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Yelp (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
Once your resume is accepted, they e-mail you back with a written assignment. I completed and returned it after 2 days. I received an e-mail the next day confirming that I moved on to the interview stage, which I scheduled two days later. The in-person process took about 3 hours, comprised of 6 - 30 minute interviews with all levels of management (current tech recruiter to director). I was offered coffee/beverage before the interview. Included a wide-range of questions ranging from "What would you do?" scenarios to interpersonal interaction experiences.
