About the position:
We're looking for a Junior to Early-Mid Full Stack Developer. This is a full-time, remote position open to candidates based in the US (preference for Columbus, OH). You'll work across the stack on a variety of consumer projects, building Django/Python APIs, React Native mobile apps, and React web clients. Compensation is based on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Developing backend services and APIs in Python/Django, and mobile/web front-ends using React Native and React, based on approved requirements and technical specifications
- Writing Celery tasks, database migrations, and DRF endpoints to support new product features
- Collaborating with designers to translate Figma designs into polished, pixel-perfect user interfaces
- Writing clean, maintainable code and participating in code reviews
- Using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or equivalent) as part of your daily workflow and reviewing AI-generated diffs with the same rigor as any other code
- Maintaining and improving our AGENT.md / CLAUDE.md configs so our AI tooling follows our team's conventions
- Attending all-hands story review meetings to provide technical input, identify solutions, and help refine estimates
- Participating in planning, feature demos, and retrospectives
- Communicating development progress, blockers, and technical challenges to project managers and clients
- Working alongside backend and front-end engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless functionality across mobile, web, and server
- Contributing to estimate refinements (V1 and V2) based on technical feasibility
- Staying current with Django, React Native, React, and the AI tooling landscape
- Taking on additional responsibilities that affect/benefit the project as they arise
About you:
You should work well in small groups and be able to get a lot done independently. You should be familiar with developing software as part of a team, using design systems, source control, and other development tools. You treat AI coding agents as a daily-driver tool — not a novelty and know how to write a prompt, verify the output, and ship the result.
Ideally:
- You are a well-rounded engineer who feels at home in both Python (Django, DRF) and JavaScript (React, React Native)
- You live and breathe modern JavaScript/TypeScript, love polishing UIs, and can translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect interfaces
- You're comfortable working with design mockups, wireframes, and detailed technical specifications
- You use Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or a similar AI coding agent every day, and have opinions about when they help and when they don't
- You have solid Git fundamentals: branching, rebasing, writing commits that explain why, and keeping PRs reviewable in size
- You're comfortable with REST APIs, PostgreSQL, and Docker for local development
Bonus points for:
- Experience with Celery, Redis, or other distributed task queues
- PostGIS or geospatial query experience
- Experience configuring AGENT.md / CLAUDE.md files, or custom AI skills
- Background contributing to white-label or multi-tenant products
Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- Paid time off
