I have been working at Cardno full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

MAny Corp changes have taken place over the past 2 or so years that have change the culture in a positive way.

Leadership is outstanding and the company has gotten more of a family feel, but from a big engineering company (it typically does not happen)

    Management promotes growth for employees,

Strives to be the leading edge in the industry and in front of competition with technology and processes improvements

Great staff accords the country, a lot of open minds to build the company

    Cons

None to speak of, all negatives were removed with the current leadership and approach over the past few years.

    Advice to Management

Keep the direction the company is going, changes were made for the better, employee moral is high because of the changes

    Pros

Great coworkers that care about each other and the work they are doing.

Project work and clients are diverse and interesting.

Company makes an effort to recognize team members that have worked hard or excel in what they do.

    Cons

Not many. People make an effort to make it an enjoyable place to be.

    Advice to Management

Continue to make an effort to recognize and reward the high-performing people and teams in the company.

    I worked at Cardno part-time

    Pros

There are overtime opportunities. The company provides your PPE. You get $200 towards field gear.

    Cons

Worked with immature individuals while in the field. I worked with all-male co-workers and had to deal with breaks where they (except for one respectable individual) laid about in nothing but boxers/briefs during the summer. I also was asked by hotel staff how I could deal with my coworkers. This was after having knocked on thier door and being exposed by my coworkers. I was told I was a fast learner and a good asset. I was told nothing other until after a bad week. I became the scapegoat for a week when things went wrong and was no longer allowed in the field and eventually laid-off. Not to mention, these guys would never measure the amount of pesticide, dye, etc they would add to a tank before spraying. They wasted a lot and cost the company thousands.

    Advice to Management

Keep track of the amount of chemicals used. Make sure your employees measure the amount they use. Add something about proffesionalism, walking around in your underwear should not be ok. Address sexual harassement, what it constitutes and that there is 0 tolerance. Provide a clear link for complaints.
