    I worked at Cardno full-time

    Pros

If you like engineering or environmental work, this is a great company. They offer decent benefits and decent pay.

    Cons

If you fill a support role and aren't an engineer, prepare to be looked down on and treated as expendable or unimportant.

    Advice to Management

Don't just say you have an open door policy, actually follow through on it. Saying you want to be transparent but then demonstrating otherwise is a great way to break trust.

I worked at Cardno full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Talented technical and support staff; decent benefits for new hires.

    Cons

Little or no recognition of achievements made by an individual, therefore, advancement in the firm is nearly impossible. Inept senior management on national level in the United States that is clueless as to how to motivate employees and how to retain them. Low morale permeates the firm due to poor management decisions.

    Advice to Management

Stop cutting talented senior staff from your roster. Giving employees ultimatums to take massive reductions in salary or to leave does not make you an employer of choice. Hiring less experienced staff to replace more experienced ones that you have cut from your roster will not help advance your bottom line in the near future. Yours is a market sector where experience does matter.

I have been working at Cardno full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In the last 8 months Cardno has really gotten their act together and turned the company around. Company has employed people who really want to make a difference and it shows. Along with attitudes, salaries are on the rise and production is soaring. I have been with the company more than 10 years and I am happy to see that we are moving forward in a positive manner. Great teammates and caring supervisors.

    Cons

No cons to date as far as I am concerned. The firm is truly making its best effort to be no.1.

    Advice to Management

Kudos for the Town Hall Meetings that keep ALL staff informed of the status of the company. I appreciate our Division President's honesty and forthrightness relative to info share. Great work Cardno!
