    Pros

Professional company, gave you the resources to succeed.

    Cons

Dynamic job but more project based and dependent on need.

    Advice to Management

Great company but there is a balance need to be able to keep employees on for the longer term, not just for projects.

I worked at Cardno full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Everyone at Cardno was a pleasure to work with. The structure was well defined and very organized.

    Cons

Still suffering from a few bad years and can lose a team suddenly and produce panic. I think this will improve as the company reestablishes moral and employee engagement.

    Advice to Management

Management training needs to be reoccurring part of development with the management staff. Some managers lacked professionalism that could be easily corrected with the proper training

I worked at Cardno full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Hires staff with similar personalities so everyone meshes well socially.

    Cons

Group Leaders and Managers are so unorganized. Principals/Managers never invoice clients which means company doesn't get paid for work people are slaving over. Principal always making rude comments because he thinks he's funny - HR problem waiting to happen. Project managers rarely take responsibility for their own mistakes and would rather place blame. No diversity in office. Gross favoritism makes everyone suck ups...

    Advice to Management

Trust your people to do their jobs. Don't micromanage every detail of office life. Hiring the right people and treating them right is what creates a lively "office culture"... NOT when forcing people to hang out late on Fridays and offering them free beer to stay.

    Pros

Generally people are nice. I believe there are people who genuinely want to Harlowe the company succeed.

    Cons

No bonuses. Constantly beat staff over the head with utilization. Regular purging of staff. Depending on where you are in the company there is a genuine gender bias. Infighting between various entities within the company. Severe disconnect between management and staff.

    Advice to Management

Cleanse your own house...then worry about staff.
