I worked at DCH Auto Group full-time

    Pros

-DCH Freehold. When first hired, the company was always on the upbeat and employees were mostly happy, always busy and there was never much horsing around.
-The dealership is clean (fairly new updates to the location) and easy to navigate. -Many of the employees had been there for a LONG time compared to the turn over rates of other dealerships I have worked for. (not the case anymore- lots of people left)
-There are MANY employees (sales, service and parts departments) that are extremely knowledgable of their product, eager to assist customers and do not haggle or rip off customers.
-The work environment between co-workers is warm, friendly, yet stays focused on work rather than socializing. There was a great work/play balance.
-Another plus- they do promote from within; more often than not.

    Cons

-The new management (upper level) within the past few years have impacted this company negatively. There is a lack of appreciation regarding employees who are not on the boss's "favorite list".
-Since this dealership was taken over by Lithia, pay-cuts have happened multiple times (which would be understandable if the company is lacking in certain areas, underperforming, etc...) Unfortunately, it seems as though these employee pay plan deductions are merely out of greed.
-This company had some of the country's top (not an exaggeration) professionals in certain departments, and instead of giving them a raise for their performance- they slashed the pay or kept it the same (which was already too low.)
-Employee's are made promises that are not kept, in regards to basic needs like uniforms (somehow too expensive for a huge corporation?), new technology when it is desperately needed..
-Pay is too heavily reliant on CSI rather than F&I and the CSI standards are not even personalized to the employee who is being rated. The survey's sent out include queries about things around the dealership like cleanliness for example. Cleanliness should be affecting the dealership as a WHOLE- not one employee who does not even have a job description to clean the place.
-If you are hired or promoted- you better be observant of your co-workers because in certain departments training is almost nonexistent. They will throw you to the wolves.
-When issues are confronted by management, employees are talked down to, given no real plan of action and nothing changes.
-The GM seems to enjoy threatening to "fire everyone" when business matters are not to his liking- and he always reminds employees that people are replaceable (Obviously, this is true. But is it necessary to vocalize that instead of promote positivity and encourage dialogue to help us succeed?)

    Advice to Management

Stop playing favorites. Value your employees and come up with a fair pay plan. Certain management needs serious re-evaluation.

    Pros

Great pay , amazing co workers , progressive leaders , Service Director is always implementing and trying new ideas to make the process smooth and create more revenue which means more money for all. They even have meetings with all positions for input to make it better. For a corperate busniess it really is a family. Schedule is fair. 401k and stock plans .

    Cons

Variety of medical benefits . Not enough company gatherings.

    Advice to Management

Keep the moral and energy up. The positivity reflects in the numbers.

    Pros

Coworkers are pretty cool and there are a few great people

    Cons

Managers and Finance managers will shift gross around to favor themselves and RIGHT OUT OF YOUR COMMISSION. Made $400? Nope not after we throw in some products the customer doesn't want

    Pros

Employee discount on a new car. Not boring, you can make new friends while you work. Not stuck in a cubicle all day.

    Cons

Horrible pay plan, high employee turn over. You are working a lot of hours to live in poverty . Can’t even afford health insurance or to take my family on vacation. An automobile is the second largest purchase and you make pennies in commission.

    Advice to Management

If you want employees to be happy and stay, pay them a living wage.

    Pros

Very customer and employee centric company. Forward thinking, progressive and actually fun to work for. Would recommend them to anyone looking for a great company to work for.

    Cons

Sometimes long hours but that’s the car business. Also, it is not always clear who to go to for specific assistance outside normal channels but with a little diligence it can be done. It is not overly frustrating but a little time consuming sometimes.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!
