      Delta Flight Attendant Interview

      May 18, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Delta Air Lines (Atlanta, GA) in May 2023

      Interview

Applied. Invited to do online assessment questions to rate your strong characteristic traits. If you pass that you take another online assessment with questions geared toward work situations. If you pass that you get invited to do an online interview where you record your answers after being shown the question. You have up to 5 times to correct your answer. Star format. For me this all happened within a day. Found out if I passed the online interview 2 days later. Then the F2F interview was 3 weeks later. Out 0f 30+ people only 3-5 made it. That is 10%! The odds are against you unfortunately. It seems such a waste to ask so many people to fly out there and do all this if they only take so little! They had 2 groups a day with 30+ people 3 days this week. That’s over 190 people and maybe 19 got the job. Maybe they should add one more step in the process to weed out more people before you do the F2F! Such a small chance you will make it unless maybe you have an in or have done it before. You can have a stellar resume, tons of experience, past flight attendant experience and military and be the friendliest but it doesn’t matter. It’s all about what your answers are to the questions. In my opinion, the whole interview process from start to finish is 1/3 is your skills, 1/3 is your personality, and 1/3 is LUCK! Are you lucky enough to say the right thing? Are you lucky enough to have the flight attendant that interviews you like you or be in a good mood? Are you lucky enough that maybe you are the specific person they are looking for at that particular time whatever that is they need to fulfill ? That’s why everyone you meet that day says GOOD LUCK! Luck you can’t control so don’t be bummed out if you don’t get it!! They probably missed out on a great employee which I think they are doing with this process. Try to answer with their core values in mind and try to insert them in you answers. I think that’s what they are looking for. I thought I did really well but I guess not. Overall everyone was very friendly and it really helped to make you comfortable. Don’t waste your money on a hotel the night before if you can help it! You get split into 2 groups. One starts the cart activity with 3 people. Then you each answer a question about it at the end while a flight attendant and HR person are watching and taking notes. Then you do a F2F with a flight attendant. You do a reach and snap test and just spend the day talking and getting to know everyone and them to you. I had 4 questions in my F2F. DO NOT SHOW ANY VISIBLE TATTOOS ! WEAR A DARK COLOR BLAZER AND PANTS OR UNIFORM DRESS!! They dismiss you by groups at the end. You did not make it if you got dismissed! End of story.

      Interview

There are two assessments before the first self-recorded video interview. The first is the values assessment. The second is the virtual job tryout where they ask situational questions and you have to answer which is the most likely response and least likely response.

      Question 1

A situation arises as a flight attendant where you have to balance your obligations to the current flight you're deplaning and an upcoming flight that you need to make on time.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Delta Air Lines (Atlanta, GA) in Jan 2025

      Interview

Applied in early September 2024. Was moved to the test assessment/ video interview in late October 2024. Found out early December 2024 that I got the in person interview and it is scheduled for early January 2025!!! It has taken a lot of patience but has given me ample time to get ready and feel prepared. The test assessment was fairly simple, took maybe 30 minutes. They do test your listening and memorization so pay close attention to directions. Video interview was 5 questions where I had 6 attempts to answer each question in 3 minutes or less. I've been watching a ton of flight attendant vlogs and I've done 3 mock interviews to get ready for my in person event day. Wish me luck! My advice to anyone applying for ANY flight attendant position: 1. safety is the most important thing! Try tying everything back to safety 2. Avoid the standard "I love people. I love travel" answers. Dig deeper!! 3. Learn more about the company. There are so many airlines out there. You might align with one company's mission and values but not another.

      Interview questions [1]
