I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO (Sacramento, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
Absolutely ridiculous, humiliating and unfair! An obsolete old school boys club process. First you complete the lengthy online application and assessment. Then several days later you will receive an email with a link to complete additional assessments (3D spatial cognitive recognition and a reading comprehension test). After passing the additional test you again will receive an email requesting you call and schedule a phone interview...the phone interview lasted about 15 minutes and the recruiter provided the following information about the job; Starting salary $46,363, average hours per week to do the job is 45. 9 weeks of training is required away from home, part in San Diego, CA and part in Virginia. You will be paid during training and are expected to maintain a 90% score on the weekly testing or you will be let go. Then they schedule yet another 30 minute phone interview and then finally you are scheduled for an in person 4 hour role playing assessment and final interview with the big boss (as they called him).

Question 1
Role Play Details: Arrived at office and corralled into waiting area with 15 other candidates. My name was called and I followed the recruiter into a 5 by 5 room with no windows. There was a desk, chair, phone, CD player, stack of papers, calculator and pens.
Role Play Details: Was instructed to listen to the CD and follow along with the written instructions on the desk...the outrageous CD instructions were 30 minutes long & you had an additional 5 minutes to get organized. It was obvious that they were not expecting anyone to be able to actually complete the exercise with any kind of accuracy. The whole purpose was to break you down emotionally and then push you to the edge with the simulated hostile customers.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO (Texas City, TX) in Dec 2024
Interview
I got an email from a recruiter after passing the assessment . That interview was just a complete run down of the job. Then had an interview with the actual manager she just asked questions about your history and some job related scenario questions. She didn’t give any hints you have to think on your feet. They will send you a video it’s 5 mins watch it and try to notice small things. Study what an adjuster does it will help answer scenario questions.
