    Mortgage Closer Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Tempe, AZ
    Accepted Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Movement Mortgage (Tempe, AZ) in April 2013.

    Interview

The hiring process was very quick. My resume was submitted about 3 weeks before my interview and it was expected that everything be dropped in terms of my current job and begin the following week at Movement Mortgage. There really was no option to reject the job as it felt more of an obligation than a job offer. Salary was quickly discussed without much detail or opportunity to negotiate. It was one interview with the Operations Manager that lasted about 30 minutes total. The receptionist was very friendly and engaging. The atmosphere was exciting in the lobby as investors and business partners were present to meet with the company president and discuss the future of the company. The hiring and interview process was very quick and pushy.

    Interview Questions

    • There weren't many unexpected questions that deviate from any normal interview. The company was in a position to grow rapidly and fill the seats and that is what the Operations Manager was doing. The interview was quick, to the point and job offered.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

The offer was straight-forward and basic. There was no negotiating. The mentality was take it or leave it.

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Movement Mortgage.

    Interview

Interview process was over phone, then in person. The number of promises they made and couldn't keep was unbelievable, and the LACK of industry knowledge by Ops was extraordinary. The poor Borrowers are not being treated properly by staff, nor are the other employees. The CEO needs to come to Texas and really sit down with some of these people without fear of Management coming down on the employees and hear what is truly going on in the field. This company is almost like a "cult" and that sentiment was expressed by at least 3 other employees I can think of off the top of my head. The Loan Operating software is beyond bad, difficult to use, and is a very unstable platform that does not always keep the data input after saving and closing the file out. Any good reviews on this site are most likely bogus ones by Management trying to make their "puppy-mill" look good.

    Mortgage Loan Officer Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Charlotte, NC
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Movement Mortgage (Charlotte, NC) in September 2013.

    Interview

I met with the market leader after working with another branch manager. it was fairly informal but very informational. This position is a self driven job, if you don't think you can go out and produce the LO position is probably not for you. I switched industries knowing that I liked finance and networking is easy for me. We spoke about my past sales experience and how it would translate into the mortgage world. I would by far recommend that you find someone you know at Movement and speak to them first, employee referrals are a very easy way to feel out the company and get an opportunity to work with Movement.
